Research a black scientist that you admire (take 10 minutes to review and find one that you like). They will be your hero. Create a comic strip, or comic life story that shows how they would have tried to solve the problem that you have chosen with technology. You will be them, creating a NEW invention that would solve the problem you have chosen to focus on.
