In this chapter, we meet the characters and I honestly feel like these characters are a lot like my brother and I as I am a loud fun person like Lana and ray is like Lori, boring and quiet.

In this chapter, we learn more about the characters personalities and then Lana has a little brother who gets a lot of attention. I really like Lana’s little brother because he is hilarious with his actions like dancing to the church Choirs music and stacking the hymn booklets and knocking them over in church I also feel like Lana gives up easy and Lori just won’t quit because of their time skating 

So in this chapter, we learn the Lakota re-naming process, and the renaming has a celebration in which it’s like a reverse birthday party where the person celebrating gives gifts to those who come. It’s neat because it’s a very long process and a big deal. Both of the girls are getting Lakota names now.

So in this chapter, Lana and Lori are mainly at school and then we learn a bit more on how it’s good that they are going to school being native Americans as that was not common in the past, we also meet this new girl named Shoua who becomes fast friends with Loris Family

In this chapter they try to get shoua to play soccer, I don’t think it is going to work

So in this chapter, they started out with gardening and got in trouble for eating a watermelon without permission. Then they later (mainly Lana) got in trouble for going into the attic and then they took a cooler and went boating in the stream they broke the cooler and got grandpa excited and got in trouble once again. They got in trouble a lot this chapter

 Moon of new names- 

In this chapter, Lana continued her streak and got in all kinds of trouble at Mount Rushmore, then they continued to work on their naming ceremony we got to learn about how the Lakota used to do the ceremony from how they did and shoua gets adopted as their blood sister.

In this chapter, they go on a camping trip on a native American style campground and they get to learn about the dances and the how the buffalo get ran off of the cliff. Personally, I think this would be a really fun campground to camp at

The book is slowing down now, the owl’s hoot apparently means in Lakota that bad news is near or someone will die soon.

So now this chapter brings the book back to life again, that owl signaled Lana getting Cancer and for now Lana is alive and she keeps getting emails and stuff from Lori and the school sent her and her room are Sara hats. Will Lana die?  Will Lori buy the dress for her?

In this chapter, Lana and Lori received the dresses they wanted but Lana was too tired to get it on because of her cancer, but the next few days Lori and school worked very hard to get Lana in the dress and to dance, I think Lana is going to die though. Because she is so tired and the name of the next chapter is moon of the terrible.

Yep, she died, it was so sad. The whole friend group just fell apart as shoua moved to Minneapolis and then Lori was lonely
