Hi!

I am an English language teacher at a public school that profiles in the arts (dancing, singing and painting). Our students learn the artistic skills until the 9th form, and when they are in the lyceum they can choose to pursue the real (STEM) profile or the humanitarian (ARTS) profile. In this project I could stir interest in the students who are 18, and are only young men. It is quite difficult to convince young women to participate in STEM projects, and this can be seen in our choice of profiles in the lyceum level where in STEM profile classes 80% are young men, and the ARTS profile are 90% young women. However, despite the difficulties, I hope to be able to involve young women at least in some activities as to make sure that everyone is able to perform STEM tasks.

Hi!

I teach Greek language, literature and history at Epal Kalamarias, a vocational high school located in a suburb of Thessaloniki.

In this project I like the idea of linking history with technology and even with a hands-on approach.Students are invited to learn historical information about monuments of our city, as traditionally done in history lessons, but also to create a monument themselves through a modern technological tool, such as the 3D printer. I believe that this combination of old ways and new materials will pique their interest, as well as the involvement in the project and interraction among their peers will give them knowledge and enhance their soft skills.

In addition, I am looking forward to the tutorial videos that the students will prepare on how to design and print a 3D object. As I do not know how to use such a printer, I believe that with the videos I will learn something new through a flipped teaching procedure, since our students will be my trainers.

Hi!
I teach portuguese and international History, Culture and Arts, at Penacova School, near the city of Coimbra. I have always been a dynamic person, linked to projects, activities, and events at school, involving students and, often, the entire educational community. Linking practical work with theory is essential to motivate students to enjoy learning. So, I regularly use technologies and, despite not being an expert, I like to research and explore new knowledge in this area. That's why I'm excited about this “3D Printed History of my city” project, from which I'll be able to learn a lot and use new methodologies in exploring local heritage, in the context of History, Culture and Arts. The exchange of experiences, ideas and knowledge, between students from different countries, is fantastic for developing skills for their future lives.
