Ponzi has such a complex backstory. I'm confused as he was arrested for smuggling immigrant to the states but still have the generosity to donate his skins to someone in needs. It made me realize he is not the typical bad guys always illustrated in the movies. He is also creative in perpetrating his fraud as he managed to persuades his victims with his "Ideal Investment".

If only he only stole from only the corrupted wealthy people and spend it to save the unprivileged, I would consider him the Modern Robin Hood of the society.

Charles Ponzi claimed to be doing legitimate things but he actually was robbing people by declaring that his investment scheme would provide a high return at low risk. Logically, it is very impossible to give 50% return within 45 days and 100% in 90 days as Charles had promised to the investors. I am amazed knowing that he used the money obtained from new investors as money to pay returns to the previous investors. This idea really shows that Charles Ponzi is very smart and had a huge knowledge about financial related projects to make sure that it is profitable.

On the other hand, I was also surprised that Charles Ponzi succeeds to influence many investors to believe and contribute to his new investment scheme. This shows that he is an extraordinary person that received high respect from many parties. From this story, I learned that we must be very careful in making any investment even if the person who forms and own the investment is a well-known person. Nowadays, we can see that there are many cases involving money embezzlement between parties, doesn’t matter if it is related to honorable people or unknown strangers. Therefore, financial and investment knowledge is very important to help us survive.

While watching the video, i was flustered over Charles Ponzi’s behavior. He seems like a person who has the guts to do anything that satisfies himself, though it includes the wrongs with the rights. The time when he helped Italians who can’t speak English at the border got me thinking this way. “Maybe helping those Italians would satisfy him or make him happy”. It was none of his business but he helped anyways, which have had him locked behind the bars. Furthermore, it surprises me more how a person who has the heart to rob millions of people’s money, also has the generosity to give 200cm squared of his skin from his body to a mere stranger. Not mentioning underwent surgery and multiple complications and infections after.

Of course Ponzi went to university although all he did was gambling more money, but it shows that Ponzi was a smart man. A smart fraud like him is very dangerous because he thinks thoroughly and has a lot of ideas. He is able to get away from getting caught through cunning ways, before finally get arrested for the fraud. I wish in the future nobody gets inspired from his “success” of being a millionaire by committing such a fraud.

A Ponzi scheme is an investment fraud that pays existing investors with funds collected from new investors with a promise of 50% return within 45 days and 100% in 90 days. It is named after Charles Ponzi who is now known as the most famous con artist. However, in the video it shows Ponzi’s personality that is quite contradictory with his investment scheme. Usually, a typical con artist would not have that really kind and generous personality in him as most of them would be greedy and selfish. But, Charles Ponzi is a generous person that he would treat his friends, help a stranger who did not know to speak English, and the most surprising is he donates his skin, which could be a really big decision in his life. On the other hand, his high perseverance that I could say that nothing could stop him from making money. Even though his business plan keeps failing, he just keeps looking for opportunities to make money as he sets his mind to bring wealth back to his family.

He managed to gather investment and even make them believe that they will get the return that Ponzi promised. He also managed to carry out his plan without getting caught for few years which proves that he managed to hide all his illegal moves until it was caught.

As from this story, I learned that we need to be very aware of what scammers are capable of doing.

Charles Ponzi who has become well known in 1920 because of his fraud scheme, Ponzi scheme. It all started because of his mother's words which somehow brainwashed Charles Ponzi to become desperate for money and started to create fraud. Charles Ponzi family was a wealthy family, but only until he was born and his family only had $220 in hand. Being the only child and hope of the family, Charles Ponzi tried to figure out ways to find money for his family, especially his mother's happiness. From this, we can see that Charles Ponzi has a good intention, but he is not doing it the right way, as he wanted the fastest way of finding money. We can also tell that Charles Ponzi is actually kind as he is willing to donate his skin to a stranger, and sacrifices his 4 months of life in a hospital, bearing pain all by himself. Despite his kindness, he still carries out the fraud, or Ponzi scheme, which is an immoral act and has impacted a lot of innocent people. From this documentary, we should always be aware with scammers and have enough knowledge in this particular subject: Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination, so that we can keep in mind of these fraud schemes.

Charles Ponzi was a con artist who engaged in a fraudulent investment scheme. A Ponzi Scheme, as his name suggests, is a sort of investment fraud in which investors are promised large profits. It entails leveraging funds raised from new investors to repay the previous investor. The problem is that his deception remained unnoticed for a long time before he was discovered. He had the ability to persuade investors to believe in his promise of a 100 percent return in 90 days. After watching the video, I was moved by his generosity in donating his skin to strangers. However, his involvement in the fraud activity was still wrong.

What I can conclude from the video is that, no matter how desperate you are for money, you should not swindle other people. Furthermore, we must be vigilant and not place our reliance in the words of others. Please do some research or seek the advice of others before taking any action.

He had a good intention, which is to make his family, who were desperate for money, happy again. Being the only child in the family made his determination to find more money getting stronger. Not only that, as a famous fraudster, who would've thought that he would donate his skin to a stranger? This shows that he really have a good heart. However, all of his kindness and sacrifices doesn't give him the permit to do immoral activities and deceiving innocent people. Wrong is wrong.

Talking about Ponzi Scheme, it is an investment fraud established by Charles Ponzi where he promised a large profit to his investors. This scheme manage to be in operation for a long time before it was known to the public. Not going to lie, but his ability to convince people to invest with an unreasonable high return is very impressive. Maybe he can use that skills for other good things.

As a conclusion, having a good intention does not give you the permit to do a bad thing.

Despite the title, I am of the opinion that the contrary is true. I learned from the documentary that Charles Ponzi enjoyed making people feel good about themselves. He aided others by giving them money and covering their expenses. He was not at all wealthy, but this was the only way he could feel validated. As a result, he went so far as to con others and make empty promises carelessly. Ponzi, although having all one could want, lived an ostentatious lifestyle. He was blessed with a wonderful wife and mother. His loyal wife desired nothing more than him in her life, but he maimed her by engrossing himself in a fictitious scheme. Perhaps his mother instilled in him the belief that he could accomplish everything he set his mind to. I have to say, his perseverance was admirable. He never failed to get up when he fell, which is very remarkable. But I'm not sure if that's something to be proud of or something to be concerned about.

From the documentary, I believe that Charles Ponzi is a kind-hearted man and full of compassion. Despite being prisoned again and again after helping the Italians who can't speak English to cross the border, he came up with new business ideas to help the people in town. However, before the business even starts, he made a shocking move when he decided to donate 220 square inches of skin to a total stranger. This makes me touched as his generosity is beyond imagination.

Throughout his life, his initial goal was to have huge wealth and change his family's lifestyle. Receiving pressure all the time since young from his mother must be tough. However, having a heart of steel and a mind of billionaires, he never gave up and strive for generating more and more money.

Here comes the Ponzi Scheme in the frame where he promised that he would pay the investors' money in just 45 days. The truth is that he has been using the money of new investors to pay back the previous depositors who withdraw their money. As long as there are investors with huge deposits, the scheme should not collapse. I am impressed with his idea because I would never think of implementing this. If only he ethically used his genius brain, he would have been a notable financial legend in a good way.

From his story, I can summarize that being a smart person does not necessarily mean that one can act recklessly and does not have to abide by the law. As a businessman with a high entrepreneurial spirit, Charles Ponzi should avoid committing fraud as it ruined his own life and image. I hope that my friends and I will be able to take this as a lesson and ensure that we will refrain from committing fraud. However, despite his fraudulent act, I think his kindness and generosity can inspire us to be a better person.

He successfully gained the trust of investors by still managing to pay them back their principal and interest although it was other investors' money. However, when the truth slowly came out, his scheme began to fall apart with all the pressure around him.

In short, anything relating to money, we have to be careful and take high precaution.

I learned so much new things through the video. I can clearly see how Charles Ponzi manage to manipulate people in making money.

In 1920, he promised the inventors that he can give them a 50% of profit from their money in just 45 days or double the money in 90 days. He made everyone thinks that foreign exchange markets seem low risk and highly profitable. Ponzi did not take all the money to blow it on a lavish lifestyle, but he keeps it aside. When an earlier investor come in to collect their initial investment plus the 100 returns, he will give the old investor money to them. Ponzi also decided that he could raised the money by doing this scheme as long as he offered people a very high return, because the others would simply invest their savings with more established banks. Therefore, he set up a company and named it securities exchange company. At the end, he has a lot more money than the bank has. However then, the state prosecutors continued to press charges against him and he was unable to affords a lawyer. He defended himself, dressed as always and capable of providing the testimony and questioning witnesses over the 6 weeks of his trial.

Therefore, we can see that every fraud and scheme will eventually end up in a bad way or a bad story.

This documentary on Charles Ponzi reminds me of a few dramas and films with similar plots that have taught me not to blindly trust the investment that we are considering. As a result, I will always have the perspective that there is no other low-risk, high-return investment unless you choose to gamble your money. As this documentary shows, Ponzi's claim of a return on investment was absurd. This is a trap that only the greedy will fall into. Ponzi, I assume, is skilled at sugarcoating ideas in order to gain others' confidence. His in growing the money are there, but his desperation to get rich was one of the causes that he failed most of it.

However, I think that Ponzi is a highly brilliant individual since he can identify and grab any possibilities that come his way. He was also his own lawyer, which means he is quite knowledgeable about the law. I respect his entrepreneurial spirit, which has remained unwavering despite his several failures. Apart from that, watching his wife remain faithful to him for the remainder of her life proved Ponzi's love. He also began all of this out of love, the love of a child for his dearest mother.

The story of Charles Ponzi reminds me of the latest documentary I watched.. The Tinder Swindler.. The scammer gather up fortunes by luring girls by showing off his luxurious life and in the middle of their relationship, he started making up stories that he is being targeted. He said that he cannot use his cards as it is traceable by the people chasing him. So he ask the girlfriend to take up loan. The girlfriend being fooled by love, willingly to make loans not to one bank, but to nine different banks. All of the money that he get from his girlfriend are then being used to lure more girls and the process repeated. The journalist in the documentary said that it is another style of ponzi scheme being used by the man. The man, in the end, was set free and not being sentenced to any wrong doings.

In my opinion, it is undeniable that both of them, the fraudsters, are smart but it is really bad and horrible for them to lie people only for the sake of them to have a luxurious live.

Knowing that he used money received from new investors to pay returns to prior investors, its kind like he wanted to recycle the money back. I admit that his tactic was smart but honestly, fool because its not easy to always find new investors and without new investors, he cannot give return.

However, I was also taken aback by his ability to persuade a large number of people to invest to have trust on him and join his new investment scheme. From this scenario or this story, it taught us that we must be extreme caution and careful when making any investment, even if the person who organises and owns the investment is well-known. As an example, even nowadays, we can see that there are many people who ar victim to fraud scam, regardless of whether the parties are honourable or unknown strangers. Thus, think well ahead before giving our money to anyone.

From the documentary I watched, it reminded me of this one Korean drama starring Lee Min Ho who acted as a handsome conman. However, instead of sugarcoating the business ideas like Ponzi, he used to con people with magic trick. In Malaysia, there are a lot of schemes such as Skim Cepat Kaya which proves that as a person, we cannot blindly trust any schemes like that. Despite that, I still find people who con other people are smart and brilliant. About Ponzi, I believe that he is a smart person as he was able to make people believe in him for years. He even managed to make people trust on the investment he introduced and blindly trust the promise that he gave. This also proves that smart person are also dangerous to the society because they are able to do anything without anyone having to read their mind.

Even though Ponzi and other con-artists are smart, it does not mean that they can do anything just for their own will which could also involve other people. To conclude, if you want to be like Charles Ponzi, you need to be smart and knows the law very well so that you can use it for your own will. However, I would not recommend this because bad things might happen to you if you wish for bad things to happen to others.

One phrase I can say in simple way about Ponzi is that, he use his generousity to cover his mistakes. In the documentary, it states all his kindness and generousity in helping people eventhough he is being prisoned again and again. He use that money that he get from the fraud and invest it in a good way to cover people eyes. That is his tactic in making sure people put trust in him eventhough he has been prisoned. Not only that, I think he become that way because of his family. The way his mother brainwash him and tell him that his family is actually rich is one of the reason he became like that. His mother start doing that since he was child and we know that children is easily influence by what he do,hear and learn. So when his mother did that, somehow it change Ponzi behaviour.

In a nut shell, for me our surroundings is one of the factors that influence our behaviour and lifestyle. Plus, people who is clever and have a lot knowledge can be the one who is more dangerous and physo. This because they have that knowledge to manipulate people around them untik they believe. Therefore, we need to be careful in any situation especially anything that related with money. Because, money can change someone behaviour.

Ponzi scheme
The guy wanted to make get a quick rich scheme in the most ridiculous way possible duw to the current economic events and the investors stupidity. They were fooled and then got their money stolen. Unfortunately the invetors are not the only victims as the whole country got into turmoil because of that scheme. Ponzi was an arrogant fool that thought nothing would cause his scheme to fall as bad it happened. I think this is the power of respect on friends and have a good image towards the society because it is one of the way to deceive people without getting caught. This is because their investors believe blindly what Ponzi says and just went for it because of their friendships and business relationships. They believed Ponzi scheme as it is never happened before. I think i could related with the current incident where a student got scammed by an online commission job where you can get commission about from 10 to 15 percent per transaction. The person needs to do advance payment and then will get paid with the previous payment and the commission payment.
