The Psalms are a book of poetry, and it is an important precedent for Lyric 1 which is what we hear so much in early modern poetry (like Shakespeare).
- Emphasis on narrative and poetry. Connected to the division of the Promise Land. Connected poetry to Jerusalem and narrative to the Crossroads of World.

Intro to New Testament:
- It is written in a way to not only give information but also to entertain and have it's audience puzzle out the morals.
- There are so many different ways to read the New Testament. (Christians read it as a way to lead them. Jews and Buddhists read it to compare and contrast to their holy texts. People who are anti-religious use it to point out short comings.)

All of the versions have their own unique structure to how the verse is written. The Common English Bible used the phrase "in the divine image" which creates further notion of God being a divine power and further separating him from humans. The Good News translation stated "making them to be like himself", leading more questions to in what way he wanted to create humans to be like himself. We also found a few versions that used the phrase "God created he him", which made us question what was meant by that or if it was a translation error.

In the Common English Bible, it says "man", and in the Jewish Bible it says "humankind" rather than "human beings". In the Good News translation, it says "making them to be like himself" rather than "in his own image". In the Wycliffe translation, it says that God "made them out of nothing", but in the Young Literal translation, it says that God "prepareth the man in His image". Many of these translations and version have the same ideas attached to them, but they are all worded differently which leaves them open to interpretation.

We noticed that the difference in translations do not vary all too much except for a few outliers that we found. For example the Jewish Orthodox Bible has a complete change in vernacular. The vernacular used is unique to the Jewish version of the bible. In the Good News Translation is says "making them to be like himself," which is a very interesting way of phrasing this statement, because it creates a picture of a different type of scenario compared to the other translations.

God could be seen as an unstoppable force in Job 4:9 "They perish at the blast of God; they are shriveled by the breath of his nostrils". God might also be seen as a fisherman or a normal civilian in Job 19:6 "If I tell you, God himself has put me in the wrong and drawn his net about me". God is often referred to as "Father" and other characters are referred to as "Children". God can also be seen as a warrior or a fighter in Job 16:14 "He made breach after breach in my defenses; like a warrior he rushed on me". In Job 8:4-6, God is seen as the creator and the deliverer of justice for ones sins, "If your sons sinned against him, he has left them to be victims of their own iniquity. If only you yourself will seek God and plead for the favor of the Almighty, if you are pure and upright, then indeed he will watch over you and see your just intent fulfilled". And again in Job 22:4, "Does he arraign you for your piety- is it on this count he brings you to trial?".

God's life was heavily associated with John the Baptist, and he was incredibly resistant to temptation. Another characteristic seen within God was his ability to cure those whom could not be cured, and his ability to perform other such miracles. God is also very forgiving and he tries to instill that value in others around him. God is very persuasive in a way that he asks questions of others and allows them to come to their own conclusions. God does not follow judgment and he believes that others should not be judging those around them. God is committed to his values and his life is rooted in them. God is a teacher to those around him and he is so passionate in what he teaches. God does not want to be praised, he is humble in what he does. He does not want recognition for his miracles, and he teaches by showing rather than telling. God is very in control of his anger and his emotions, he is level-headed.
