I really feel the level 1 quiz would be too hard for many of our students and that we already know this. The thought of asking teachers and students to prioritise doing it just so we have data to say they can't do it seems the wrong way around. Surely we know from classroom teachers and other diagnostics on the ground that the level 1 'do now' is already too hard. Can't we make more tests of a lower level straight away and allow students to start with success first?
