1. On International Women's Day, thousands of women took to the streets to protest against food shortages and war, they were soon joined by many other workers. Days later Tsar Nicholas II abdicates and removes his son from the succession. His brother, Mikhail then refuses the throne.
2. This is a important event because it was the start of change. After this event had happened, hundreds of years of the Tsar rule had finally ended.

1. The workers and soldiers of Petrograd stand up against the Provisional Government.
2. I say this is an important event that happened during the Russia Revolution because this was the beginning of changing things for the government, those who hold power. In the same month women had also gain the right to vote and hold office, and the death penalty had also came back.

1. When General Kornilov, commander of the the Russian army, had ordered troops towards Petrograd to counter the threat of the Bolsheviks.
2. This is important because this was when things had taken quite a turn for Russia's government. This event had resulted in the Bolsheviks being able to secure power among Petrograd's working classes, workers and soldiers.

1. The Bolsheviks had seized control over Petrograd, and then take control of the Winter Palace. The Winter Palace was the last remaining holdout of the Provisional Government.
2. This is an important event because it was the ending of how things were with the government, but also the beginning of how things would workout for society. For example, working conditions had gotten better, and the death penalty was abolished once again.
