The novel was a great read for anyone who comes from a Hispanic/Latino cultural background. Its a story based off of a little girl named Alma wondering why was she given such a long name. Her father goes on to describe where her name originates and what makes it hers now. She grew to accept her name because it came from love and inspired her to give her name meaning too. This novel would be good to young readers to not only identify with their name but, understand its what they will make special about their name.

Pablo, visits his good friend Matilde for a planned arrangement throughout the day he shows a gloomy mood while his friend is the complete opposite. In the novel, Matilde tries to show Pablo through simple life pleasures there's always something positive which derives from the title. Ode to an Onion, is a good read for youth to learn the concept of "you can find something positive out of nothing".

Ideally, this novel is not only great at grasping the reader to the point of reading the whole series but, its very informative to introducing Greek mythology.

If you are looking for a book with a little bit of humor and interesting plot. I'd give this book a read. The story talks about a bear who goes around asking other animals if they've seen his hat. Each time he goes to ask about his hat with other animals he gives a description of it. Until, he realizes later on that he has seen his hat on another animal and confronts the other animal for it. In the end, it shows the bear sitting down wearing his hat... and the other animal, well you get the idea.

Personally, I'd recommend this book for someone who is looking for a sophisticated read. No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai, is based on a young character who sees himself as a failure throughout his life. The character enough sees himself as "disqualified as a human," which gives a very dark tone. I felt in some way people could find the novel to be relating to a certain degree.

It gives a chance for students to not only interact and participate mentally but, also through physical exercise. While, doing so it provides information of certain animals what they can and can't do. Plus, its a good book to build young readers interest in reading.

Don't Let The Penguin Drive The Bus, is another great interactive book to get students excited for the school day. The story is about a silly pigeon who tries his best to convince the reader to let him drive the bus. Throughout the book he is responded with the word "no" but, that does not stop him from being persistent on driving the bus. It is light hearted and a great book to start off your student's morning and get them excited for the day.

Harry Potter, is a great introductory book for someone who isn't into heavy fantasy. Harry Potter, gives children the ability to imagine themselves in a new world with magic but, can relate to their school life. The vocabulary is easy to comprehend throughout and gives you good explanations to visualize the story. However, if you did see the movies before reading the book I'd still recommend others to read it because directors are known to cut out important detail that won't make the big screen.

I find this comic book/graphic novel to be one of the most intriguing and informative for children to learn about cats especially from an animated cat. Throughout the novel, a child is learning from different types of cats, their habitats, and behavior from a typical house cat. I even put the book to a test and my nephew enjoyed it himself. He would even recognize cats on television and let me know he read it from the book. This is a creative way for students to not only develop an interest in reading but, to enjoy learning something new and in depth.

Recently, I’ve noticed a certain trend with an amazement towards Dinosaurs or it could be just that my students are the only ones who find them fascinating. I do find this unique because for this book it covers the introduction of dinosaurs in brief way. Throughout the book it compiles information on how we think dinosaurs looked because of the knowledge we have of them. This is a good book that simplify heavy language for students to read and understand an in-depth concept like dinosaurs and their undiscovered history.

I was amazed about how it was not only a use of reading aloud but, interactive with using finger movements to follow along. This could be used both in a general and special education classroom. Throughout each traditional story it has its own imagery to follow along with hand signals which would be amazing for children who are learning sign. This would be even great for students to be a part of these stories too.
