How Stuff Works: How are computers made?

A very important part of making a computer is finding a central processing unit, or a Cpu. This part controls the processing of software. Not only that but it needs a hard drive. You need this because if you don't have one then there wouldn't be anywhere to store your data. memory cards Aren't essential unless your trying to share data, there are others but these way is easier. You also need a random access memory, or Ram. This is used like a hard drive but its faster and is for the ' "smaller" data parts. The motherboard is like the nerves inside the brain. It connects everything together and helps it function. The computer also would need a operating system. Of Course these few parts aren't everything you need for a computer but these are a few of the most important parts of the computer.

I picked "How Are Computers Made" because I really like using computers because I like to see what a computers made of. computer are used to research and to check email and other things like social media, and video games. Although there are many uses for computers. The creator of the computer was a mathematician called Charles Babbage. In 1833 he started and in 1871 he created the computer. The things that I learned was what was inside a computer. I knew there was a hard drive and cpu, and I figured there would be something like the motherboard in there but I didn't know about the Ram. And there were more things about the computer I didn't know like who made it, and that cpu's were made from crystalline silicone.

When the Thinkpad came out in July 2008, the original price was $2,189. The company that made this Thinkpad is Lenovo. This Thinkpad is a old model, it's model number is t400. Lenovo didn't always sell Thinkpad's T series, in 2000, the first t series came out. They called it the t20. They also had a R series, but the R400 was made with cheaper material. They had a W series but because of cuts they didn't continue it because it was so expensive. After a while the R series was also cut. Lenovo, after R series was gone, made the L series, with the l412 and l512. But the L series wasn't really new because it had the same case as the old SL series. They came out with a Thinkpad called the Island series in 2010.
