“The whole of the front room was severely damaged by fire and the rest of the property suffered smoke damage. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus went in to tackle the fire and we were at the scene for an hour-and-a-half. The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage and it is being investigated. The fire broke out in a downstairs front room. A child was in the room at the time and they both got out of the house. A man who was in another room also got out. Both the man and the woman suffered minor burns and the child was fine.”
The family stayed over at a relatives overnight. On the 26th of February 2013, the house was empty and showed signs of a downstairs that had been on fire. A damaged sofa which is the image above was shown on the grass a few yards away from the house, and other blackened items were strewn around from the front of the house.
