My name is Sandy Pablik, and I am thrilled to join this group. I am originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina and immigrated to the US when I was five years of age. My family landed in Southern California and quickly decided this was the place for us. I have taken a prior course with Dr. Collins and could not be happier to be her student once again. I'm excited to share that I am near the end of the program and although feeling much of the "senioritis" effect, it has been a wonderful experience thus far. This is my first time using this forum and loving it already. I always look forward to learning about my classmates throughout the course of seven weeks, particularly for the unique and diverse contributions each one of you make to our field.

In my early days, I began working as a 3rd. grade Teacher Assistant in my children's elementary school just a few blocks from my home. I truly enjoyed my work there yet little did I know that it would be the wonderful beginning of my professional career path. Inspired by the experience, I went on to complete my A.A. Degree in Child Development  from El Camino College in Torrance and later my Bachelors of Science in Human Services from University of Phoenix. Throughout the time I was in college I operated my own home-based family child care program for 10 years and later transitioned my work to the classroom specializing on Infant and Toddler care. From that point forward, I spent the last ten years working as a mentor and professional development coach for family child care providers and preschool teachers, and in the non-profit world as a family and child advocate for underserved communities, and case management coordinator. I truly enjoy my work and feel very passionate about our field. It's been an exciting journey thus far and looking forward to continue a path of lifelong learning experiences.
