They live in a neighborhood inhabited by white people. The article also talks about if you go a few blocks west downhill the neighborhood is primarily black and if you go a few blocks east the neighborhood is primarily white. In Huck Finn the black people are slaves and live with people that own them but in a certain state there free and can live wherever in the free state with whoever they want. We have moved on from this because we treat everybody equal no matter what.

They can work and vote. In Huck Finn the women stay home with the children and also sewed clothing. In ''Ain't I a women''  the women are fighting for what they should be able to do like they should be able to work and eat as much as a man. Women were not treated equal back then they had to stay home they weren't allowed to work. Men had more rights then women did they should have all been treated equal. It doesn't matter by there gender or color everybody is the same so they should be treated the same. Men should not control women and tell them what they should and shouldn't do women can make their own decisions.

Now we treat people the way that we want to be treated. some people might not have moved forward. In "Why I, as black man, attend KKK rallies" the guy talks about how people throw bottles and soda cans at him in the parade and he thought that the people did not like the scouts but actually they we're throwing it at him. He as said he was only one of the two in the school that was black. People should not throw things at people just because they look different. In Huck Finn they treated them like slaves because of how they look. We are all human and we should all be treated the same.

Huck Finn is connected to this because Jim was taken away from his family and put into slavery. Now we have gone forward. We don't take people from their families and turn them into slaves or sell them off to other people. Just because they have different color skin or believe in a different religion doesn't mean we can treat them different or turn them in to slaves. Back then blacks and whites went to different schools now we go to the same school. we make friends that are different color or religion but we still treat them the same. That's how it should have been back then.

It says that people of color are more likely to commit a crime. In Huck Finn they thought that Jim killed Huck because of his color and because he ran away that night so they assumed he killed him. It says that people of color who were unarmed and not hurting anybody were more likely to get killed by a police officer. It kind of seems like people are still getting racial profiling but it's not as bad. People would cross the street so the could avoid the black person that was walking there way. The jury would find a person of color guilty even though they don't have evidence. If a white person was accused of a crime they were less likely to be guilty.
