 I am in the multiple subject MAT program and will be finished in December of this year.

I am working toward a multiple subject credential and my master's in teaching.

I teach a 4th/5th grade combo class at a small private school here in Bakersfield. This is my third year at this school. I was previously a preschool teacher. I love teaching upper elementary and hope that I will be able to remain at these grade levels throughout my career.

 On my father's side, my grandfather is a first generation American whose mother was from England and father was from Scotland. We do eat some traditional Scottish food occasionally and we have all worn a kilt at some point in our lives (I haven't since I was younger), but don't really practice any cultural traditions. On my mother's side, we are Spanish and Native American, but do not really have any cultural traditions that we practice.

We took our kids to Kauai, Hawaii. It was so beautiful! We enjoyed spending our days boogie boarding and snorkeling with sea turtles. We took an amazing catamaran tour around the island to see the famous NaPali Coast and rode ATVs through the forest. I work hard so that I am able to provide for them and give them a good life. I also believe that experiences are more memorable than material things, so I try my best to provide them with as many fun family experiences as I can. I believe that time spent with my kids is more valuable than money spent on my kids.
