Macbeth's men arrive and kill Lady Macduff and her son.<br><br>Essay Connection:<br>This scene shows how cruel Macbeth has become and makes the audience feel sorry for Macduff's family It makes  Macduff more determined to fight against Macbeth.<br><br>Evidence:<br>Lady Macduff says, "He loves us not," showing her worry about Macduff leaving. The messenger warns, "Be not found here," but they can't escape in time. Macbeth's men then kill Lady Macduff and her son, showing Macbeth's increasing brutality.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>gist statement; Macduff meets Malcolm in England and they talk about how bad things are in Scotland under Macbeth authority and Malcolm tests Macduff's loyalty and then Ross arrives and tells Macduff that Macbeth has killed his family.<br><br>Essay Connection:<br>This scene shows Macduff's loyalty to Scotland and his sorrow over his family's death. It also sets the stage for Macduff's determination to defeat Macbeth.<br><br>Evidence:<br>Malcolm says that this tyrant whose sole name blisters our tongues," showing how much they hate Macbeth and then Macduff proves his loyalty by saying, "O Scotland, Scotland!" Ross then brings the tragic news, "Your castle is surprised; your wife and babes savagely slaughtered," which makes Macduff vow to kill Macbeth.</p>]]></description>
