Often regarded as "Your favorite rappers rapper" Lean has influenced many with his unique style including myself. He also had heavy influence through internet aesthetics such as vaporwave showing the extent of his influence his not limited to music. The style of both his lyrics and melodic dreamy beats are inspirational to me. The heavy effects and editing on the vocals help to use his voice as another instrument within the songs, this accentuated by the heavy autotune. For example  in the song “Volt” his voice acts as a melody with the synths almost appearing as more of a counter melody to the vocals, I love the way this keeps his voice fitting in the track with heavy reverb and distortion along with other effects. As previously mentioned the use of dreamy synths in many of Lean’s songs are another inspiration to me. This cloud rap style appeals to me as an (at the time) innovative, new way to merge moody electronic songs and more traditional trap style rap, two genres  love by themselves and even more when mixed together. Featuring lots of reverb drenched leads and deep droning bass lines from the electronic side and punchy trap drums and lyrical content and flows. His lyrics also take on a mix of american trap and sad, emo rock as seen in his eclectic mix of influences from Chicago rapper Chief Keef to swedish punk rock band from the 80’s “Broder Daniel”.

This style is a great Inspiration to me through the soulful sample flipping and punchy ,sometimes, synthesised drums. The later work On albums such as "graduation" and "my dark twisted fantasy" Include many larger more grand songs often through the use of huge  soaring synths at the hands of legendary producer Mike Dean. Kanye's use of simple tracks with punchy drums and a sample I find a huge inspiration, I can also see the inspiration from minimalistic architecture for example le corbusier. This means the vocal lines and creative use of samples can shine through as the main part of the song. The use of orchestral instruments and choir singing is a unique method in his style of music and creates this soul inspired style of rap. The roseland nyc live album used a live orchestra to create electronic music and kanye used similar techniques with both orchestra and choir sampling in mainly his first two albums, I would love the opportunity to eventually record a similar album using live recordings from these large scale musical organisations and use them in a more unorthodox situation such as a rap song.

Their music Was heavily filled with synths and drum machines of the time period and even earlier. They also used A heavy amount of sampling and manipulating samples to create a whole new sound out of older obscure samples. One of their signature styles is using a vocoder to add robotic vocals to their songs. The combination of the Innovative sampling and synth use Influence me specifically.  Sampling like in the song "Face to Face" combines many small elements of other songs to not only create a new melody, But also use the samples to make it sound like the song is saying "face to face" in the background. The synthesizer Is one of the main elements used in many of the daft punk songs,this is the element of inspiration I get from daft punk. They use synths for both melody and baselines to create their signature sound often with simple, catchy and repetitive melodic elements.The  “Random Access Memories” is a combination of both electronic and funk creating an electronic album with a new groove that is something I would love to replicate. This album shows both the electronic and house elements of Kraftworks and Todd Edwards and the more 80’s-90’s funk style of George clinton. I also really appreciate the way daft punk plays live shows and often mixes multiple of their songs together live and creates new interesting variations of songs that you have heard 100 times. (One Block Down, 2021). The american refernces regarding food and drinks, such as his song "gatorade" and cultural refernces all throught Yung Lean's songs could also been seen as influenced from popular american rappers such as Chief keef.
