Students who engage are for the most part successful and motivated! Those who regularly don't come to live sessions cannot fully engage in ALL of the differentiated ways of learning in addition to OLS. They don't have the extent of cognitive growth or mental engagement that students who regularly attend do. Required attendance in live class would be a great motivator as well as provide better accountability for students & LCs. There will always be exceptions due to families who are experiencing difficult life circumstances, but this would provide a motivation for engagement and cognitive growth.
