The persecution of Christians was both good and bad for the church. It was bad because the people of the church were dying. They had to face brutal punishments if they were caught practicing their beliefs. However, it also helped spread Christianity. As terrible as the punishments were, the early Christians responded to the threats with faith and love. This was a revelation in the time period they were in. People were inspired by the Christians love in the face of hate. This persuaded more and more Roman citizens to join the Christian church, and helped the Church grow.

The emperor that was the biggest enemy to the Christians was Nero. Nero was the biggest threat because he personally sought out Christians and killed them for personal entertainment. A couple of ways he tortured them was tying them to poles and setting them on fire. Another way was when he dressed Christians up in fur suits and released starved animals on them to die. The final way he tortured the Christians was when he crucified the Christians in front of large crowds in the Colosseum.

Someone might argue that the persecution of the Church could be both good and bad. The persecution of the Church could be good because it helped spread the faith faster. Non-Christians admired the bravery of the martyrs and were inspired to convert. The Church was also scattered during this time and that helped bring the faith to different places. The persecution of the Church could be considered bad because thousands of innocent people were killed. The emperors also tried to make prisoners worship and sacrifice to false gods. Some Christians could've been converted to that faith, which would lessen the Church's numbers.

If I were persecuted by my nation for my beliefs my first action would be to pray to God to help me stay calm and brave. I would keep being Catholic without looking back. I would also help others that are friends or family stay faithful and keep moving. As time moved on and I felt that I would be martyred soon I would pray to God again for guidance and help. If I was captured for being Catholic I would simply tell God to help the people who were going to murder me, and give them a change of heart.

The emperor that was the biggest enemy to the Christians was Nero. This is because he started all the killings and things out. He was the first to start and many emperors followed his lead. He also had some of the worst ways of killing the people. With him putting them on a pole and burning them. This was worst than most of the emperors and in my opinion the only one that comes close in getting quartered. But, he also would torture the Christians for his pleasure and we didn't read of any emperors that do such a thing. Nero also set fire to his own city of Rome and then blamed it on the Christians. Another thing no other emperor did was harm themselves like Nero did when he burned Rome.

One of the emperors that I think was the worst one out of them all is Nero. I think this is because he set things on fire in Rome and blamed the Christians for the fires. That made people dislike them and made people hate them or want to kill them. He also would capture them and tie them to a post and light it on fire, they would use them to light their streets. He also tortured them and made them fight/die to lions, bears, and other animals.

Persecution was both good and bad for the Church. It was good because it led even more people to believe in God. People would not willingly die for a cause they thought to be a legend or a myth, and this inspired other people to believe too. However, the persecution of the Church members was bad, too. Killing someone for their beliefs is inherently wrong, but also it may have tempted people to denounce their faith or stop believing to avoid death. Additionally, outsiders of the Christian faith might feel hate toward the Christians, since they were blamed for acts like massive fires during Nero's reign.

I think Emperor Nero was the biggest enemy to the Christians. He was the first emperor to persecute the Christians, so more emperors followed his lead and persecuted the Christians as well. He would torture Christians for no other reason except that he enjoyed it. Other emperors did not care as much about the Christian's faith, but only persecuted them because they caused political problems. Even though his persecution as emperor didn't last longer than five years, he still made the Christians more prominent and truly distinguished them apart from the Jews.

Two emperors that were the biggest enemy's of Christians were Nero and Diocletian. Nero is one of the biggest enemy of Christians because he persecuted Christians for his pleasure. This makes him one of the biggest enemy's because he just persecute Christians to protect himself and his religion but also for his own enjoyment and pleasure. Diocletian is one of the biggest enemy's of Christians because he performed extreme persecutions. Diocletian was also known to be as bad or worse than Nero.

Someone might argue that persecution was good and bad. First, it was bad because the apostles were killed. The apostles were the teachers of the Christianity and has they were persecuted most people were likely left in confusion on what to do. Second, The apostles were being exiled, sent away, and also killed. This may seem bad, but it caused the apostles to travel to different areas and help Christianity spread, by teaching those people about Jesus. The apostles showed bravery and defiance to the emperor. These were character traits that were well respected by the Romans and helped cause a 40 percent increase in the amount of believers in the faith per decade.

Someone might argue that persecution was both good and bad for the Church. Persecution had a good impact on Christianity because it helped spread the Good News in a faster and easier way to other parts of the world. The population of believers of the faith grew 40 percent bigger every decade. Although persecution was good in those ways, it also was a very difficult undertaking for the Christians. They were publicly shamed, or brutally tortured or killed. This act of mistreatment towards the Christians resulted in the death of many brave souls, but resulted in great expansion for the growth of the members of Kingdom of God.

I think Nero was one of the biggest enemies to the Christians . Although his time didn't last long he still was extremely unfair to the Christians. Even though the way he persecuted Christians was just as bad as other emperors, they did it for a reason. What he did is barbaric and wrong in so many ways. That is why I believe Nero is one of the Christians worst enemies.

The Emperor that was the biggest enemy to Christians was Diocletian. Diocletian was a very cruel emperor and despised Christians to the point he would torture them. Although some of the other emperors also did the same thing, he truly hated the Christians and all he wanted to do was get rid of them. He would torture the Christians for his own pleasure. One thing that Diocletian did was stick the Christians on poles and then light them on fire to be used as light posts in the night. Another thing that Diocletian did was tie the limbs of Christians to horses and be pulled apart when the hoses would be told to run. The Christians would also be skinned alive and sent into an arena to be attacked by wild animals. He even created for edicts against Christians.
