I can argue my opinion and refute their opinion even if it is different from my team members during the discussion. Because I’m honest, Also, I try to listen to what people say, so I can ask members immediately what I don't understand to understand the members’ opinion accurately. And I’m afraid to face new environment, but I always try to adapt to the environment. I didn't have any friends in this class, but I tried to have a lot of conversations with them to exchange opinions. Also, I try not to give members a hard time. When I prepared for this presentation, I have honestly played the role given because it is unconscionable to take my advantage by giving them hard time. And the best power I have is that I always try to see the positive side first. If I don't see the positive side, I'll be prejudiced against them and that bias makes communication with them difficult. So, I try not to be prejudiced for smooth communication.

Yes, I am. I have analyzed the data given every week and have always prepared answers for comprehension quiz and vocabulary quiz. But, the difficult thing was that each student had learned English and they had different ways of using English, so there was a time when I couldn't concentrate while speaking and listening in English. Also, I was nervous about even introducing myself in English because of the Korean style of teaching English as 'theory' instead of 'language'. But I started studying English again thanks to the professor's encouragement that it is okay even if you are not good at English. It was helpful for me to read various kinds of English books (fairy tale, English newspaper, etc.) to prepare for class, and at the same time I watched many movies. Especially, The movie was very helpful for me because I could learn the expressions that Americans use in real life.

Korean teachers teach grammar rather than conversation and I was afraid to express my opinion in English. Also, I felt that I was one of the students who are good at English grammar and not good at speaking. So I have always been interested in how to study English and I have been thinking about how to be good at speak English. After this class, I thought that I learned a lot of expressions by conducting discussions in English every week. I couldn't learn it in Korean class Because the Korean education style make students be not able to think for themselves and be having a hard time organizing their thoughts and expressing them in words. After I realized the importance of discussion class, I have participated in discussions to develop my ability to think for myself and tried to know the benefits of discussion classes. After 14 weeks of discussion, I could develop my reading and analysis skills in the process of researching data. Especially, the comprehension quiz conducted during class helped me improve my analytical skills. Also, I could learn advanced vocabulary through the process of organizing my thoughts and vocabulary quiz. And I was able to develop my critical thinking ability to judge why they had such an idea by listening to the members’ opinion. Although the presentation proceeded in zoom, not face-to-face, the most important thing was to analyze the data and present it to the others, and to develop expressiveness and presentation skills to persuade them. And after the first discussion, I wondered if this would really help my major. But, after I listened to the weekly presentations and spent a lot of time preparing for discussions, I could see problems with welfare and policies seen in the materials and I could realized that discussions were essential to improve them. In other words, through discussion I was able to understand the data.
