● Build an inclusive and respectful community among participants and staff.

● Lead and facilitate workshops (dance, art, identity development, community building), some of which will be provided prior to programme and some of which staff will be able to develop / create.

● Lead groups through service learning projects. ( Lead? Or Co-facilitate )

● Manage participants through residential living and support their day-to-day needs.

● Provide emotional support to participants as they explore a new culture and navigate through a new environment away from home.

● Advise participants – of varied backgrounds and abilities - on the many projects they will be working on independently and as a group during the programme.

● Facilitate team building activities, sports, debates, arts and group service projects.

● Use past experiences in creating engaging projects, meaningful discussions, and reflective activities to advance the goals of the programme.

● Responsibly care for participants during off campus visits and weekend long excursions.

● Work collaboratively with facilitators/ Educators from diverse backgrounds.

Facilitators have the unique responsibility of helping to develop transformational experiences and strong, lifelong friendships for participants and volunteers. Global Encounters is a rigorous programme. We are looking for individuals who are flexible and hard working.

● Preferably 25 years and older;

● Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University;

● Minimum of 3+ years working experience preferred. Professionals from all disciplines are encouraged to apply (nonprofit, business, government, technology, healthcare, education, arts, etc.);

● Passion for youth development and experience working with youth within or outside the Jamati context;

● Ability to be a big brother / big sister, and mentor and serve as a role model with positive values;

● Flexibility, strong communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills;

● Ability and experience working on a team with peers with diverse skills and backgrounds;

● Past experience engaging in service learning projects with youth or past experience with volunteering in communities;

● Experience in art, music, sports, theater, photography, media arts, technology, social entrepreneurship, etc.;

● An understanding of international development; and

● Excellent command in reading and speaking English.
