Chapter 1: The Hidden Door
Emily and Danny were best friends who loved exploring. One sunny afternoon, while walking through the woods behind Emily’s house, they found something strange — an old stone door covered in vines. When Danny brushed the vines away, the door began to glow with blue light.

Emily touched the handle, and whoosh! The door swung open, revealing a tunnel of sparkling crystals. Without thinking twice, they stepped inside.

“Welcome to the Crystal Forest,” said the fox. “But beware — the Shadow King has stolen the Heart Crystal. Without it, our world will fade to dust.”

Emily and Danny promised to help. The fox gave them each a charm — a silver feather and a moonstone. “These will protect you,” it said.

They followed a winding river to a tall black castle surrounded by mist. Inside, the Shadow King sat on a throne made of ice.

“You think you can stop me?” he laughed.

Emily raised her feather, and Danny held up the moonstone. Together, their charms shone so brightly that the ice began to melt. The Heart Crystal floated out of the King’s hands and returned to the sky, where it burst into light.

When Emily and Danny opened their eyes, they were back in the woods. The stone door was gone — but the silver feather and moonstone still glowed softly in their hands.

They smiled at each other.

“Do you think we’ll ever go back?” Danny asked.

Emily grinned. “Maybe the forest will choose us again.”
