  • They must have amazing skills at a very young age.
  • They are normally favored by the gods; the gods want them to succeed
  • They have to go on a quest, like defeating a monster, saving a princess, etc.
  • They have to suffer and die in a normally not honorable way, most likely because of their flaws.

Achilles is considered a hero because he is courageous, noble, and is admired by all.
