Electricity is the phenomenon associated with the presence and motion of charged particles. Electricity can be either stationary (static electricity)or moving (dynamic electricity) particles. The source of electric charge could be an electron (has negative charge, and a proton (positive charge). Unlike charges (positive & negative) attracts each other while like charges repel each other.

Any magnetic objects or particles have north and south poles with the directions based on the orientation of the Earth's magnetic field. Opposite poles attract each other while like poles repel each other.

The etymology of Electromagnetism comes from the combination of two Greek elektron, meaning "amber" and magnetis lithos, meaning "Magnesian stone," which is a magnetic iron ore. Electromagnetism conveys the process of creating magnetic field through the current in the conductor. When the conductor is electrically charged, it generates force of magnetic lines.

There's a significant relationship between magnetism and electricity since both of them exist in earth wherein because of electricity current it creates a magnetism arround the earth such as electron's orbital angular momentum, and subsequent magnetic moment. Which can we observe that due electrons (electricity) it rotates that earths that results in producing magnetic field arround the earth which si North and South Pole

Electricity and magnetism are two separated and distinct phenomena until 19th century. However, electricity and magnetism are now known as be components of the unified theory of electromagnetism. The relationship develops because of the fact that an electric current or the flow of electrons in a metal produces magnetic field. It also shows that a changing electric field produces a magnetic field and a changing magnetic field produces an electric current.

Danish physicist Hans Christian Oersted presented his experiment on 1890 that proves the relationship of electricity and magnetism. In the said experiment, he yielded a definite movement of the compass needle with regards to the metal wire wherein an electric current is passing through which is suspended above the magnetic compass. Moreover, James Clerk Maxwell did contribute concepts about repulsion of like charges and attraction of opposite charges.
