JJ: I had some ideas that might also work for JJ. You said that he was restless and had a hard time keeping his hands for himself. I think it might be helpful to use a fidget toy that has its own set of rules for the child. The toy might need to stay in his hands, he might need to have listening ears and his eyes on the teacher, etc. This might decrease the chances of him touching others during circle time. It will take lots of follow-through to help him learn the rules, but it may help his restlessness. Also, I noticed that you said the child runs from center to center. I also had this problem and first I observed the environment and what it is telling the children and rearranged to ensure that there was clear boundaries and no open spaces.
SA: I was reading that the child struggles to keep his hands to himself. I wonder if a social stories might help to teach the child how to use his words and ask children to play instead of tackling. The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations website has scripted stories that may be useful.
BS: I think this child might benefit from an individual schedule for each part of the day with pictures. I also think this child would like controlled choices with a visual. This will help him convey what he would like to do and it gives him more control.
