I really like reading! I read a lot of web comics and comic books, and even fanfiction. I know most of it isn't professional work but reading it makes me happy. I also read articles mostly for school, but if I find a topic I'm particularly interested in I will read about it nonstop trying my best to collect as much data and information I can store in my brain. I use google to look up words I don't know. A lot of the authors I read that create fanfiction really know their stuff! (They are very professional). My relationship with writing on the other hand is very iffy. While I might consider myself a decent writer, It depends on the type of writing (the genre) I'm writing on. I wouldn't be able to create a story with my skills at the moment, but with due process I know I can learn and grow, and figure out my strengths and weaknesses. For writing tools, I use spell check a lot. It helps me when I type too fast or don't know how to spell certain words. Writing also doesn’t come easy to me if I don’t care about the subject matter just like reading certain article topics, but I want to get over that mindset and just learn to write about what needs to be written, regardless of my feelings. I deeply want to learn to express myself through words, both academically and professionally. I would really like to widen my vocabulary and use strong words to build off of to create a portfolio for when the time comes.

My relationship with reading is alright I don't really read a bunch but I do love fiction books and comic or manga books. I feel like I am in between when it comes to having a negative and positive experience with reading only because I get distracted easily and than it can get tiring at times when having to reread . I feel like I mainly use articles when reading as well because I would get a lot of those assignments from my older teachers in the past. Some of the tools I use to read is audio books like on youtube or listening to the audio because I get distracted easily so listening sometimes helps calm down my focus. My relationship with writing is pretty much the same I am alright but I feel like I can get better academically and professionally with time and help. I would say also trying to not spend as much thinking time while writing because I can sometimes get lost. Some things I write about is my To Do list or I will write in my journal about my day. A lot of the tools I use when writing is grammarly because it corrects spelling or any thing that needs to be fixed when I write essays or paragraphs.

My relationship with reading is great I love reading manga and webtoons and sometimes chapter books it really depends if the chapter book is good or not and if it captures my attention. Something about being able to see the drawing is cool for me since I have a very imaginative mind so it makes it even better for me to keep reading them. I tend to read most of the manga books and webtoons on websites because many of them aren't translated into English so I have to go online and look to see if someone translated it for me to read in English.
My writing relationship on the other hand isn't the best because I tend to not use better vocabulary for some words so I end up using the same words over and over again. Something else I do when I write is make huge run-on sentences. My teachers used to tell me to make my sentences much shorter and I would lose points because of that. I feel like if I were to get more help and expand my vocabulary I believe I would be a much better writer than I am now. As well as learning how to cut my sentences and make them much shorter and getting to the point much faster would make me a better writer than I am now. Some tool I use is a grammar checking on Grammarly as well as google translate. The reason why I use google translate is because I get to hear someone else reading out my writing and it allows me to hear my mistakes better since it's not me reading it in my head.

I would say that my relationship with reading is good, not the best when it comes to reading things for school but once I start reading about a topic that interests me I tend to enjoy it. Although I do not read as much as I would like I mostly like reading about true crime mystery books. When it comes to reading things for school I tend to put them off till the end as I do not enjoy reading about the topic, but if one of the topics interests me I will read it till i'm finished. At times I do end up getting distracted once in a while but not all the time. Nowadays I enjoy reading off audio books whenever I can as it can be much easier to not get as distracted with other things. On the other hand I would say that my relationship with writing is somewhere in the middle. I don't really have much of a positive or negative experience with it but if the topic which I am writing about does not interest me I tend to not really care or put much thought into it. I know that I am not so much of a good writer but I am certain that I can get better over time if I put in the effort. I feel as if I am repeating a lot of words while I write so that can be kinda frustrating as I re-read things over again. I use a lot of grammarly to help with my mistakes whenever I'm typing fast and things don't make sense.

My relationship with reading is okay. I don't really enjoy reading that much as I don't find it very interesting and I find it hard to focus. There are some books that I find interesting and in that case I find it easy to speed run the book. One thing I've noticed about myself when reading is that I like to use audio books because I feel like I understand better when listening to someone while following along in real time. Some of the books I like to read are horror/mystery because if the book is really good, it keeps you on your feet, making you want to know what's next. Another genre of book I enjoy are some journals and "sad" kinds of books because I just like the realism of it. It gives you an insight on a different way to view some other things in life that I just find interesting. For audio books, I usually hope and pray that I can find it on youtube, but if not I have some friends who have Amazon audio books that I use.

My relationship with writing is okay also. The thing with writing is I tend to talk a lot, so usually I have a lot to say, but whenever it's time to write, I can't put all of my words onto paper. I tend to struggle a lot with vocabulary and further elaborating a lot of topics I talk about. Although I do get my point across, whenever my teacher asks for more elaboration, I tend to struggle. The thing with writing is whenever I feel I constructed a good essay, I always get the same things. "Elaborate more", "I like you ideas, but what else." etc. I wouldn't say it's a negative association, but I wouldn't say it's positive either. I would want to get better at writing so I no longer see these comments on paper I've submitted. Some of the things I write are essays for class and sometime journal prompts talking about day to day life just because. I mainly use google docs and the notes app.

1. I would like to say my relationship with writing is at a good place. Although I would like if I could be more of a reader. I enjoy reading different kinds of genres of novels. In my English literature class, I often enjoyed novels from the Victorian Era that empowered women. After taking that class my relationship with reading bettered, and I have been trying to continue the monthly readings. One thing that has prevented me from reading more often is getting distracted easily, and not being able to fully concentrate on the novel. I will say I enjoy reading, more when they're novels I find interesting. Some of my favorite genres are romance and dystopian novels. At times when I find myself reading a novel that has difficult vocabulary. Some tools I try to use are audiobooks and annotate.

2. My relationship with my writing right now is good, I enjoy learning new skills to better my writing. More because I've always enjoyed writing. A big challenge in high school when it came to my writing was I at times was in the middle, sometimes in did poorly, and other times did very well. I found it difficult to understand what the things I did good, and bad were. I haven't always met their requirements the way I wish I did. I would say I have both negative and positive associations since I am passionate about writing, but I would like to really focus on learning effective writing skills. I am a big writer when it comes to being organized with my to-do list, events, my notes, and about my feelings in my journal.

My relationship with reading has come a long way with many ups and downs. Throughout my high school years my pattern with reading has changed a lot. Freshman year I had a series of books I loved to read. Sophomore year I became obsessed with books based on true stories. One of my favorite books became A Stolen Life, by Jaycee Dugard. Although for a period of time in my life I enjoyed reeding my last two years of high school I began to struggle with finding books. Not only did books seem boring to me but every time I opened one I would become sleepy. I remember falling asleep on my history book whenever I read in order to take chapter notes. I began to associate reading with boardroom instead of something to pass time. Now, I want to improve my reading habits and explore books I used to enjoy. For my writing habits, I would say they are very good. I usually write every day weather its on my computer, phone, or paper. I enjoy making my to do list to stay on track every day. In addition I have had practice because my senior year I would have a DBQ due every day. Although I don't write as much as I did my senior year I believe I still do plenty. I want to be able to expand my writing in various ways. Writing creatively is something I would also like to explore as it is something that seems interesting. Being able to explore creative writing would serve me as a de-stresser and help me relate to writing as something I like to do and not something I have to do.

I love reading. I try my best to always read on my free time but I can't always get to it. I love all kinds of genres, as long as I'm hooked on what I'm reading. But usually it's fiction, I love a good story. That may sound obvious but it's actually not. I have read so many books but I haven't love each and every one of them. I'm a big fan of thrillers, like those unpredictable twists. I love emotional books as well, one of my favorites is Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. In high school it was required to finish a book every 5 weeks and to prove you did there was an assignment that had to be done with it. There were different options but I always chose to write a letter. There were guidelines as to what had to be in the letter. I never had a problem Becuase I always loved to write about the book, I always had so much to say about them . I tend to read books online because of the fact that I can't always buy the physical copy. But I love having a physical copy. My relationship with writing isn't as passionate. I like to write when I like what I'm writing about. Usually I'm good at writing arguments, I love a good argument. I tend to edit my work over and over again. This is because it helps my writing and I can fix things to make it the best.

Since I could remember, I have never been fond of reading nor do I currently like it. It's very uninteresting to me and I feel that I could be doing more interesting things. It's very hard for me to just sit and read. With all the distractions such as my phone, I can never get myself to read. The only time I actually read is when it's mandatory for school. In my entire 18 years of life I have only read a few books that were for fun. I usually don't read books unless I have to read them for school. Once in a blue moon I do get the urge to read a book for fun but don't usually finish it. Despite not having a positive relationship with reading, I would like to get into the habit of reading for fun. Personally, I don't use any tools for reading.

As of now, my relationship with writing is in between. Personally, I feel that writing can sometimes be a chore. The only things I write are emails, text messages, and homework assignments. I also recently started trying to write in a journal but stopped after a few days. I really struggle as an effective writer and think that my choice of language and style could be much better. Tools I use to write mainly consist of spell-checking tools such as google docs spell check and Grammarly. I also occasionally use citation tools. I also use word count on google docs.

word count 250

I would think my relationship with reading is okay for link manga but if it's me reading a book for school then I would say it's bad as I would get distracted easily when reading the books. I don't like reading in silence so I would get on my phone and put a video on or put music on but I would tell myself "I could use a little break" and go on any social media app and stay on there for hours and then try to go back to reading. If I don't have any audio in my headphones and it's completely quiet, I would get tired and almost fall asleep which would waste a lot of time. But most of the time if I can, I would use audio books and would listen on 1.25x to 2x speed as the people reading it are to slow. Then my relationship with writing is kind of the same as reading, it's bad. If it's quiet, I need to put on something like a video as I don't like the quiet as it feels uncomfortable. If there is complete silence, I would fall asleep and wake up in the middle of the night and then I would try tomorrow to finish it. When thinking of what to write next, I would take a couple of minutes about it and if I think it's good, I would write it down but through halfway, I would forget about what I was thinking. After that, I would try to remember but if not I had to think about something completely new which would take minutes or hours.

The relationship I have with reading and writing is a close one because I often write in my spare time, read any work of fiction, and engage in both activities when able.

While I try to maintain an equilibrium with both, reading tends to be less enjoyable to me than writing, but I still enjoy it nonetheless. However, I do have a positive association with reading due to the fact that it allows me to choose pieces of literature which I find interesting to read like webcomics, books, and more. As for any tools that I utilize for reading, I will commonly use bookmarks or listen to audio in case I prefer to listen rather than read.

Writing is something that I enjoy more than reading because it allows me to think of what I wish to do or which direction to take myself in, yet it also allows me to express myself as well. When it comes to writing I also have a positive association with it since I am able to write for fun or whatever is on my mind which allows me to freely write whatever I wish. In writing, there are no specific tools I use, yet the ones that I do tend to use are highlights, spelling checks, and anything that can improve my word choice. Apart from allowing me to express myself or take my writing in any direction, it’s also a way for me to relax and have a moment with myself and my thoughts after a rough day or when I wish to be alone for a while.

My answer is, “My relationship is complicated,” here is why? Many will say, “It’s okay,” and “Not a big fan,” yet I feel like we don’t reflect on what we do daily when texting and diving onto social media. And this relationship is complicated because I will read or listen to an audiobook in Libby and write some notes or update my journal occasionally. Still, other than that, I won't mind it because it’s just an everyday life thing. When I type a text message, I consider it writing; I read a message; I read a video or post’s comment section. And when it comes to academics, I will do the reading and writing assignments, but I can assure you that it will take me a while because I want to understand things and take notes, or sometimes I will procrastinate (I try not to). So in other words, this relationship will depend on the topic, reason, and how I feel at the moment; one example is how I will read graphic novels, yet once I’m done reading one, I will take a break and not read another one in a good while, so I will move on to reading a self-help book. I will then find myself doing chores and listening to a fiction audiobook. Meanwhile, when I write in my journal, I try to do so neatly, and at the same, I will type and ignore mistakes. “I'll go back to them later,” I tell myself, and when I write, I usually use Grammarly as it is beneficial when I come across spelling errors or even word repetition; I do admit that I can be a very slow writer as I usually will find myself double thinking what to write about; one example is my journal, I like to write the course that my day took, and sometimes I want to write past stories that I find memorable.

1. I think that reading is very important because it helps us comprehend things in better ways. I like to read when I have free time and an interesting book. Sometimes I do not read because I do not have any books that interest me. There have been certain books that I have really liked. The Great Alone by Kristin is one of my favorite books. I like it because it is interesting. I like it when books have a very descriptive way of telling events because that really helps a reader feel. I also like to read books that are informative. I read about things that are interesting to me though. Right now I am not reading a book, but I will get one soon.
2. I feel like writing is something that I need more practice on than reading because sometimes I can't find the right vocabulary to say what I want to say, and this prevents me from communicating in a more effective way.
