In the pre stage the students start by a discussion so they get familiar with the topic. The activities 2, 3 4, 5 and 6 are pre stage as well. They put the text in order for 2 and 3. In 4th activity they match the beginnings and endings of invitations so they learn the structure of a letter better. In 5th activity they learn some letter expressions. And in the 6th activity they learn the language of a letter. Finally the While-Stage start. In the 7th activity they are asked to write an invitation letter by choosing a desired topic. Even though the Pre-Stage is long, the While-Stage will take even longer. The Post-Stage is giving a reflection to a friend’s letter.

NatGeo coursebook doesn't cover the writing as a skill by it's own. Instead they decided to cover it together with the other skills as a grammar, vocabulary and a substitute activity for the other critical skills.
