In the realistic fiction novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio, the main character of the story is August Pullman, or Auggie for short. some of his character traits are intelligent and has a deformed face. Evidence that supports these traits are, "I know academically it's been a great year for you. You're one of our top students. Congrats on the high honor roll" (Palacio, 285), and, "It's not just that he's a new kid mom' I answered. 'He's deformed" (Palacio, 135). Another character in the story is Summer. She is sympathetic and understanding. Evidence that supports these traits are, "I sat with him that first say because I felt sorry for him" (Palacio, 119), and, " I would have stayed mad at him longer but then he told me about something bad that happend to him on Halloween ans I couldn't stay mad at him longer" (Palacio, 126)

In the realistic fiction novel Wonder By R.J. Palacio, the story is written in first person. However, there are different parts in the story, which shows different points of views of different characters. This helped me understand the story better because showed how one event affected different characters in different ways. It affected how other characters might of felt positive or negative for a event. It affected characters, for the better or worst. This also helps devolves the characters and personality.

In the realistic fiction novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio, the theme of Wonder is to not judge a book by it's cover. This statement means to not make assumptions by what they look like or what clothing they wear. This relates to Wonder because in the story, on the first day of school, people didn't want to be friends with him because of his looks, but then once they look past his face, they realize that he is different than they thought and they want to be friends with him.

In the realistic fiction novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio, the plot of the story can be organized by a plot line. The main settings of the story is at Beecher Prep and home. The main characters are August, parents, Via, Jack Will, Julian, and Summer. The initial conflict of the story is Auggie doesn't want to go to school because everyone will be scared and they won't talk or be friends with him. In the rising action, Auggie gets a tour and is guided by Jack Will, Charlotte, and Julian, Summer sits with Auggie at lunch, Auggie overhears a conversation and Jack says something mean about him, Jack punches right in the mouth, Daisy dies of old age, and Julian is suspended from school and can't go on the nature retreat. In the climax, Auggie gets confronted by kids from another school and he stands up for himself. Then Amos, Henry, Jack, and Miles stands up for him, which proves that they are his true friends. In the falling action, everyone in school was talking about Auggie and they wanted to be his friends with Auggie. Then, in the resolution, Auggie gets the Henry Ward Beecher Award, then everybody celebrates and is very glad for him, which makes Auggie feel very happy.

So, my rating on the realistic fiction novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio? I can easily give it 5 stars. I give it this rating because the book does a lot of things right. At the beginning of the story, I felt bad for Auggie, and at the end, I realized how much Auggie and every other character has changed, and I felt happy for them. R.J. Palacio knows how to properly develop a character so that you feel the same emotions as that character. Also, splitting the story into different parts with a different prospective's is a genius idea. it shows how different events affected different characters in different ways, and it adds more depth to the characters than there already is. I would easily recommend this book to any person who is thinking about reading this book, and the whole story will be planted in my brain for the rest of my life.
