I got a 19/23 on the inventory. This means i have high external locus of control. I do believe this is accurate because i always blame others for my mistakes because to me, nothings my fault. One time my mom asked me to take out the trash but i said it was pouring rain and I’ll do it later, but i forgot to do it later and my mom yelled at me. Another example is when i went hunting with my dad i tried to shoot a deer but i closed my eyes while pulling the trigger and blamed that the gun moved. One last example of external is when i went to score a goal but it didn’t go in and I blamed it on the ref because my opponent was grabbing me. Some examples of internal are when i forgot to close the pool at my job because i was so tired and i said that t was my fault and didn’t blame it on being tired. Another example is i accidentally broke my sisters dryer brush and i took ownership when she asked who did this and why. And lastly my mom asked me to feed the dog but i forgot because i was watching tv and took ownership later that night saying im sorry I forgot.

My score was 15, and it reflects an external locus of control. I believe that this score is accurate because alot of these questions were asking about believing in luck and I'm a very huge believer in luck. 1. When I was supposed to go somewhere for my birthday but it started downpouring that day, 2. When I was going to the arcade with my friends in 5th grade, a group of highschoolers came up to us and gave us a bunch of unused 1 hour free cards. 3 When my parents won a greencard giveaway and I had the chance to come to America. Some ways I experienced Internal Locus of control was 1. When I studied really hard for my physics test and it proved the be useful since I got an A 2. When I packed for cold weather when we went to Canada for a trip even though my parents said that it probably wasn't going to be cold and it did end up being cold 3. My AP lang teacher didn't like my topic for my research paper so I came up with a new topic that she would like.

I got a high score and I think my results reflect an external locus of control but I also know that I can see and understand Internal locus of control but admit to it less. I think this score is accurate because I blame external forces more often even if I know it’s because of internal forces. 3 times i’ve experienced external locus of control was when I didn’t know what was on my math test, when I am driving and there are other cars driving around me, and when teachers assign a lot of homework. 3 times i’ve experienced internal locus control was when I took accountability for not doing well on my math test after not studying enough, when I choose how to react in difficult situations, and when I complete my missing assignments

My score was 8, which is low. I focus on internal locus of control. I believe this is true because I know that I create my own problems and I have direct influence on my life and my choices. I make choices that will have consequences and other people do as well. Yes, there are some external factors, but I believe everyone is in control of their own lives.

Examples of External Locus of Control

1. When it rains and I can’t go outside and play baseball

2. When it snows and I can’t drive as well as usual and its slippery

3.

12/23 was my score. My results indicate that I have more of an External locus of control. I believe it is accurate because I do tend to blame other things over my own actions. External: 1. When I was at a track meet I blamed the schools track for my bad time. 2. I blamed my friend for something that was my fault. I blamed the teacher for making the test hard when I should’ve studied more. Internal: 1. I knew I should have studied more for a test that I didn’t prepare myself for. 2. I was in control for losing a wager that I made with my friends. 3. I took responsibility for forgetting to turn in homework that was assigned a week ahead of time.

I think it’s accurate because I do find my self trying to find an excuse for things that happen, but I do try to take accountability or reason in myself in situations. (external examples) 1)How my teachers grade things. 2) the things that are on a test. 3) If I get sick. (internal examples) 1) Ask for help before a test. 2) study the materials given to me. 3) If I take care of myself when I get sick.

My score was 11. I have an external locus of control. I believe the score is decently accurate since I catch myself sometimes blaming teachers for grades even though it was definitely my fault. It’s usually at school, for other things, I believe I take accountability. 3 examples of external locus of control are when I blamed my 8th grade teacher for my grades since she didn’t like me, my french teacher didn’t like me since I talked a lot in class, and I feel that my physics teacher sometimes takes off points on labs for no reason. # examples of internal locus of control are when I make myself study for a math test, when I make myself read my AP Lang book, and when I study for my physics test.

I also think though sometimes you may need a little bit of luck. I mainly think though that it is on me but a lot of the times if I dont like the task then I wont try but i know I have to instead im just become lazy.

3)

1. When my friends say something that isn’t all too nice. I can’t really control what they do or say to me so I just let it be but I can control how I act towards back to them. 2. People talking trash in soccer, again I can’t control what they say. Usually I am not starting this but I just can’t control other peoples actions that affect me. 3. In Fortnite I can’t control getting sniped from across the map.

4) Identify 3 examples from your life when you have experienced INTERNAL Locus of Control.

1. Having a big soccer game and I will just eat really healthy and practice more to be ready for my games. 2. Studying for a quiz because I never study but I know I have to if I want to control the outcome of my test or quiz and If I put in the work ill get the outcome I want. 3. Working hard in Fortnite so that I dont get sniped next time and instead I crank 90s and full box him.

I think This score is somewhat accurate I do find myself blaming external forces sometimes but I also do find myself taking accountability for my wrongs so I believe I’m more in the middle. One time when I went up for a layup during a game I thought I got fouled and I blamed it on the ref. Another example is when My parents were mad that someone left the basement a mess after having people over I immediately pinned it on my brother. My last example is when I took my math final the last question was a problem we did not review a lot and I blamed it on the teacher for not going through it more with us. Some examples of internal locus of control is when I forgot to study for a vocab quiz and I did not do too great I took responsibility for not checking Schoology. Another example is when I missed a wide open cutter in game and MY teammate told me and I took accountability. My last example is when I broke my phone screen I had to own up to it and tell my dad what really happened.

I got a 7/23. That means i have an internal locus of control. I do be alive the score is accurate. I believe most of the things that happen in my life come from my decisions. There’s been many times where I’ve blamed some refs for my team losing a game. It is out of my control the wins speed/ direction in golf. One more thing out of my control is the weather. I feel like i get affected by weather. One internal locus of control for me is how hard i work in practices. Another is me and my duo getting ready to spray down someone in the sky that just got rebooted. And one more is getting locked for a big test a few night before.

Molly Mundt

1) my score was a 6 which means I have an Internal Locus of control

2) I think it is somewhat accurate. I tend to think that you can change your life and accomplish anything with hard work. However I also believe that what is ment to be will be. However if you don’t try you will probably not get there.

3) I have experienced external control when It was my birthday and I had covid. I was really upset I couldn’t do anything with friends or family when I still could have found a way to make it special. I could have had my own party and celebrated with family later. Another time was when my dog wanted to go for a walk but I had my brother walk her because I had to much homework when in reality it wouldn’t have hurt to much to take her for a five minute walk. My third example is when I needed to study for a test but instead of studying I did other things. Eventually when I started studying it was getting later and I blamed my lack of studying on it being to late when In reality I should have started earlier. 4) I exprianced Internal locus of control when I did bad on an essay, so I relized my mistakes and worked with the teacher to do better on the next one. I also was really lazy one day and had a lot of homework the next day. Instead of getting upset that the teachers give to much homework I relized that I dug myself into a hole. The third is when I dropped my phone in water and it broke. Instead of complaining that it slipped our of my hand or was out of my control I owned up to the fact I need to be more careful.

1) I got a score of 9 which means I have an internal locus of control.

2) I definitely believe this is accurate because I am definitely a strong believer that you are always in control of how you react to situations. If I get a bad score, it’s certainly not the teachers fault for not teaching me, it’s my fault because I could’ve watched videos or read about the topic on my own and take responsibility for my learning. In life you will always meet others you may not agree with the way they do things and you simply can’t control that, but you certainly can control how you react to the situation.

3) The first example of when I experienced external Locus is when is tennis my partner and I lost the first set and I kept telling myself it’s on her, but it’s always a team effort, so I was 100% in the wrong. My second example is from when I complained I had nothing to eat because my mom didn’t make anything even though I was literally 15 and could definitely make something on my own. My last example is from chemistry, I would constantly say it’s the teacher’s fault that I don’t understand anything when I really should‘Ve taken time to understand it outside of school.

4) The first example of me experiencing Internal locus of control is when this year I got a bad score on a US History test, but instead of complaining the teacher didn’t teach it, I made sure to study harder for the next test. My second example is when I took responsibility for when I forgot to buy milk on the way home when my mom asked, but instead of making an excuse I simply just told my mom I’m sorry and went to go buy it after that. Lastly, I am always honest to others about situations and never make excuses for why I was lazy, I just straight up say I need to fix the issue.

My score was a 19 and reflects an external locus of control. I believe the score could be a little accurate only because I feel like it depends on the situation for a lot of them. But most of the time I do blame outside forces for a lot of things that happen. Examples from my life when I experienced an external locus of control was when I blamed what was on the math test I had, instead of blaming myself for not studying as much. A second one would be when I blamed the weather over not running well at my track meet, but it was more my fault. A third one was when I blamed the teachers for not teaching something well enough but I could have been more focused. Some examples of internal locus of control was when I studied hard for my test and got a good grade. Another one is when I had homework to do and I didn’t understand it, I blamed myself instead of the teacher because I wasn’t paying attention during a small part in class. Another one was training very hard for my sport so I can do well the next day.

I do believe that a majority of the time outcomes are decided by how people act and not just by a strike of luck. A time I’ve experienced external locus of control is losing while gambling. I have no control over the cards I or the people I play with receive. This means it’s not my fault I lost. A time I’ve experienced internal locus of control was getting a good grade on my math final.

My score was 16 and it indicated that I have an external locus of control. I agree, I believe in external forces having an effect over what happens in my life. Sometimes I feel like things are out of my hands. However, I also believe that I take some responsibility for the events in my life. External locus : 1. When my English teacher gave me two C’s, so I believe there is nothing I can do to get a good grade on a presentation. 2. When I assume that random people don’t like me for reasons that I can’t control rather than trying to communicate with others and meet new people. 3. When I believe I can’t win a tennis match because there are people who have had more training than me and I should just expect to fail. Internal Locus of Control: 1. When I do bad on a test so, I study for my next test and do well. 2. When I bowl a bad game, the next game I tell myself to be more focused. 3. When I wake up late, so I set an alarm for the next day to wake up early.

My score was a 19. This means that my reflected an external locus of control. I think that this score is somewhat accurate because I think I tend to sometimes think that certain things that happen to me are outside of my control. My first example for external locus of control is if I’m do bad on a test even though I studied, I just say that my teacher doesn’t like me and they purposely gave me a bad score. My second example is if I’m having a bad day, I say that the weather is bad and that’s why. My last example is if during volleyball I double the ball, I say that the gym is too cold and not the fact that I didn’t warm up enough. My first example for internal locus of control is if I get a bad grade on a project, I usually recognize that I didn’t work as hard as I should’ve. Another example is if I am late, I should have left earlier instead of blaming it on traffic. My last example is if I do bad on a test, I probably should’ve studied or studied more than I did.

I got a 5, meaning I have more of an internal locus. I think this is pretty accurate. While I believe that there are things people can’t control, I think it’s the response to outside forces that matters more in the long-run. In my day to day life I subscribe more to the idea of hard work yielding good results especially in sports or hobbies. I’ve experienced external locus of control in my everyday life at my house. I have two dogs who both do not appreciate the rain. Once I was trying to get my dogs to go outside when they didn’t want to and I accidentally tripped on my shoe laces, instead of blaming myself for not tying my shoes I blamed my dog for not going outside in the first place. Another time I was baking cupcakes for my color guard team and I had forgotten to tell my mother so she turned the stove off while I was getting icing from the basement. Instead of blaming myself for not telling her about the cupcakes, I blamed her for not checking the oven. I am usual a very punctual person, so I get very annoyed when I am late. I have a friend who is consistently late to everything, I could have picked her up earlier but I forgot and we were late. I ended up blaming her for taking too long to get in the car. I have experienced internal control when I dropped a plate doing the dishes and I knew I should have dried my hands before picking it up. Another time I had just learned to ride a bike as a kid and I fell and scrapped my knee and I knew I had been going too fast. The most recent time when I had to experience internal locus of control was when I forgot about my math test on a Monday and didn’t study for it and got a bad grade.

I scored a 9 which means I have an internal locus of control. I believe this is accurate because for the most part I believe that you are in control of your life. Internal 1) during my competitive season I really wanted to go tot state so I spent the whole season working really hard to get the routine clean along with my team. Internal 2) My grades for the past year and semester have been at a spot I am okay with because I’ve put in the work to have my work done on time and well. Internal 3) When something goes wrong or I did something I shouldn’t I typically analyze what’s happened or where I went wrong. External 1). If my team has done bad at a competition I could have blamed the team for how we were feeling that day. External 2) In the case that I do bad on a test I may blame the test for being different than the curriculum. External 3) If I get sick I may blame other people for getting me sick or seasonal changes instead of maybe having unhealthy lifestyle habits.

For my score, I got a 4 which means I have an internal locus of control. I believe this score is accurate because I think that if you’re not skilled enough or good at something then thats on you not that you just weren’t lucky enough. If something goes wrong, you probably just didn’t try hard enough, you can’t just be “unlucky” on scoring an F on a test. If that were to happen that just means you were unprepared and didn’t put effort into understanding the material. Examples from my life where I’ve experienced external locus of control are 1) If I am presenting on the first day for presentations, I blame the fact that I went on the first day because I didn’t get as much time to prepare as people who went on the second day did. I also wasn’t able to see many examples of how others did their presentation before I did mine. 2) Sometimes on a test I blame that it wasn’t on the review and that we weren’t told to practice it as to why I didn’t know how to do it on the test. 3) When I think of the future, I blame that I wont be able to buy a house as early as people could when they were my parents age because the prices are high in the current economy compared to what peoples incomes are. Examples from my life where I’ve experienced internal locus of control are 1) When I get a lower grade on the test, I study and prepare for the next one rather than procrastinating until the very last minute and not studying at all. 2) If I don’t do good at a game, I practice more in order to get better rather than blaming the conditions of weather, etc. 3) If I am not on time to something, I will leave earlier the next time instead of blaming the traffic or the fact that a train came when I was on the way and that it was just poor luck.

I scored a 7, meaning I have an internal locus of control. This means I believe people are in control of many things that happen to them, and I take responsibility for my own actions. I believe this score is accurate because I am very hard on myself in everything that I do, and I am always telling myself I can do better if I work harder, and I am fully responsible for what happens. Three examples from my life where I have experienced external locus control are when my flight got delayed back home from Italy due to weather, when my team lost a game and I blamed the refs rather than the mistakes we made during the game, and when my ride to school picked me up late, so I blamed them rather than the fact that I could’ve walked and chose not to. Three examples of internal focus in my life are when I did poorly on a test and I acknowledged that I didn’t study as much as I should’ve, when I played very poorly in my softball games and I acknowledged that it was because I went to bed late the night before, and when I made varsity freshmen year I knew that I worked hard to make it there.

External) 1- one time I was playing a soccer match in gym and my team lost. instead of saying Id try harder next time I blamed it on my teammates. 2- I lost my temper on my family during a trip and I blamed it on the sun giving me a headache.3-I did bad on a test score and said it was okay because the majority of the class got a similar score to me. Internal) 1 whenever i’m not confident for an assignment I make sure to study and do my work. 2- whenever my team isn’t working well together I engage them instead of complaining. 3- when I do well doing a sport I know it’s because I was focusing and motivated to do well.

My score on the Locus of Control Inventory was high on the external locus of control, meaning I believe that outside factors, like luck, circumstances, or other people, have a big influence on my life. I think this score is accurate because in many situations, no matter how much effort I put in, the outcome still feels out of my hands. For example, I once studied really hard for a test but still got a bad grade because the questions were much harder than expected. Another time, I applied for a leadership position in a club, but I didn’t get it because the teacher in charge had a different preference. Even in sports, I’ve had moments where my team lost not because we played badly, but because the referee made questionable calls. These situations make me feel like no matter how much I try, external factors play a huge role in what happens, which is why I agree with my test results.

I got a score of 20, and it is External locus. I think the score is mostly accurate because I believe some things are out of my control. Ex: external - 1. My science teacher gave us an 8 page assignment and I did it the night before and had to stay up late, I blamed it on the fact that it was 8 pages instead of taking responsibility and knowing she gave us 5 days to do it. 2. The other day I started work at 2:30 and my brother woke me up 3 minutes before I had to go. I blamed me waking up late on the fact that I worked late the previous day instead of knowing that If I had been productive with my morning I would not have fallen asleep. 3. I had to come early to school to hand in field trip money and the line was already very long, but we still got In line and waited. Eventually it was our turn and we got wait listed. We were a bit sad because we really wanted to go and we blamed it on the fact that some people skipped in line Instead of taking responsibility and knowing we should have gotten there earlier. Ex. internal - 1. I had a big test in science class and I spent the day before studying, and I did really good so my hard work paid off. 2. When I cooked dinner for me and my brother it turned out really good because I followed the directions and tried my best 3. I was starting to procrastinate my school work but I sat down and completed all my missing work and I’ve been on top of it since.
