Born and raised in Brazil, the land of blessed weather, great vegetation, the Amazon, Christ the Redeemer Statue that welcomes everyone with open arms. The colors of the flag depict the green, representing the wide and rich vegetation and forests. The yellow, the vast riches and the blue represents the vast clear blue skies while showcasing the constellations predominant in the night skies of Brazil.

Brazil was colonized by the Portuguese people of Portugal and henceforth the official language of Brazil is the Portuguese and the Guarani (Native indigenous language). But during the progress of this great nations, many other countries allured by the prospect of a new life have made Brazil their home in hopes of escaping poverty, persecutions and war. Making Brazil a melting pot of diverse cultures.

The south of Brazil was heavy influenced by the Germans and that can easily be noticed by the name of cities, architecture, names and last names. German was even taught in schools as a second language for a period before it was frowned upon during the WWII.

There is no other stronger agent in me becoming better at mastering the English language as videogames. As early as my Junior years in high school, video games like Final Fantasy 7 and 8 have propelled me forward into becoming the best in school no matter what school I went to. That only became more evident when I taught my own class to my fellow class mates, tested and graded them. My nicknames was the walking dictionary, during classes people would often ask me for translations of songs, video games and words. Ever since, video games have been a very big part of my life, in the beginning it was mainly an escape from a rough life at home. And that did not change much through the years, and I think even to this day it has always been there for me when I need to cope with the stress at work. But it morphed into a tool to teach English in a online immersive program, I used Dungeons and Dragons as a platform to give players the experience of immersion over the internet while they were living in Brazil.

Gaming will always be part of my life, it challenges me to think and tackle difficult scenarios with different approach, and I'm grateful for that.

I remember moving into a Hotel a block from the beach, it all seemed like a fairy tale. The weather was great and the beach was something straight out of a post card. Piçarras was not too far from where we used to live, back then the roads were not as developed so the trip would take one hour but it can be a lot faster these days.

Despite the trip not being too far from where we were born, one thing was very clear to our entire family when we talked to the common folks in the town. The dialect was atrocious, people spoke much faster, mending their words together in a poor vocabulary and very fast pace. I remember my parents asking people to start over but slower when talking to the locals.

It is so funny how much difference in dialect we can experience traveling a small distance away from where we came from. The culture in the town was different, the dialect, life style. Kids adapt fast to changes so for us we did not see too much challenge as our parents had to experience.

Our family were introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when we were very young so as long as we can remember we were a part of it. When we moved to Piçarras, we attended Church in another town were we had to travel to. Later when my twin brother and I turned 12, there were enough people in our town in our same religion that were traveling as well so my family decided to hold the meetings in our living room. We grew up being the first deacons, priest, and so on till we became the first missionaries of our Branch, and being the first missionaries of the Stake to serve outside the country.

Never did we think that it was possible till my twin brother and I opened our mission calling letter and discovered that he was going to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania mission and me to San Jose, California. Double the surprise and the panic mixed with excitement was clearly visible in both of our faces after the stun of reading it out loud passed.
