The kids does not seek fancy/expensive items to create a "artwork". A simple torn piece of newspaper, clouds and spilt water on the floor is seen very differently at our house these days. We have always appreciated how the school initiates different artistic, sporting and literary activities for the students and their families. There's a lot of culture exposure as well. For example, in the recent Hari Raya celebrations, the school was decorated to reflect the festivities, a cooking demo was shared via zoom, arts and crafts, story telling and even a photo booth! There was also the art exhibition on National Day, where a live gallery of exhibits made by the children with guidance and in collaboration with an artist...they were all strung together to form a comprehensive narrative on the Singapore story. There are many more examples and this is one of Chatsworth's unique qualities, and a reason why alot of parents decide to send their children here. Show and tell creates opportunities for children to open up, build their confidence and forge a bond with fellow enthusiasts. Listeners learn to respect the orator’s story and importance of item that may be shown during the activity.  Another way is letting the preschoolers be responsible  for their chores while keeping it fun. Values like caring for the objects and being mindful adds value to their play. Next, in coming up with worthy projects like Language of Food where the children learnt through play and gained exposure. Lastly,the teachers of my child have always placed focus on effort, not the result. These ideas are then connected and collectively further developed into projects of immense interest to the the children. They are allowed to innovate and build which they are proud of. “The world is your oyster”… the grounds of Chatsworth Picadilly is the oyster for our children, especially in these trying times. Providing the space to ponder, exploring the luscious greens, building a treehouse or a greenhouse together, seeding and caring for plants in the garden or simply marvelling at the feathered friends who drop by with their loud calls.
