Miranda Lamberts, "The House That Built Me" is her way of expressing her joy of her memories from home. Her music video consisted of real videos and clips from her childhood, while taking place in the home itself. She discusses things she's done, from learning the guitar to doing homework. Her house was a major key component in her life, as she grew up there, or so she says, "The house that built me" again stating that house made her who she is. I too have personal memories from the homes I've lived in, though few of those memories took place when I had lived in a hotel for 8 months. I too learned the guitar. I have plenty memorable experiences with my family, as well. I believe everyone's experience in their living situation, counts as a key component to who they are today.

In the song "The house that built me" Miranda Lambert believes she lost herself in the unknown. Miranda is seeking a place of comfort in which she may find herself back in the house where all her memories stay. Miranda pursuing her brokenness to heal, while she roams the place of where she once was. It portrays a feeling to others as well due to the reason home does not specifically mean what Miranda portrays. There are various point of views but simply meaning a person may have to go to a place they feel known of comfort to find a sense of peace. - Sabrina Rodriguez -Dinarte

Miranda Lambert’s song “house that built me” portrays the connection she has to where she grew up, and how it helped shape the person she is today. A person’s childhood and upbringing, and the experiences they undergo in early life really help grow who they become later. My childhood was very different than most others, and it wasn’t ideal in many ways, but I can say with full certainty that it had a major influence on who I am today. I found it interesting that she referred to where she grew up as a “house”, and not a home.

Miranda Lambert's song "House That Built Me" is a song of reflection and nostalgia in a yearning sense. Lambert years for her memories to come back to
from her childhood to be able to rediscover the feeling of childhood comfort that she finds in nostalgia for her home and in her memories. In the song Lambert's house acts as the vessel for said memories. I can relate a lot to Lambert in this sense. Although I haven't moved around a whole lot my life,
at least in my mind, is split into 3 distinct acts all in different states.
Wanting to go back and feel what it felt like to be a real kid is something
I often want. The closest I'll ever get is nostalgia but I'll always still
reach for that. Memories are the closest I know I can get to going back to where I was in my life.
