I rate this book a 4.5 out of 5. I loved almost everything about this book. I loved Rose's optimistic view on the world even if people thought she was a little odd. I Disliked how her father would snap at her, but it honestly makes the book seem more like reality. Which I personally enjoy. That being said one thing I absolutely hated was the ending of the book. I feel like something was just missing with the ending of the book. I really hate vague, up to you how the story ends books.

Passage/ Quotaion

"For the first time in my life i'm being sent home with weekly progress reports that I have to give to my father. The reports are written by Mrs. Leibler and read and signed by Mrs. Kushel, which is my teachers' way of saying that they're in agreement about my behavior. The reports list all of my note able behaviors for Monday through Friday. Some of the comments are nice, such as the ones about when I participate appropriately in a classroom discussion. But most of the comments just make him angrier and he slams the reports onto the table and say, " Rose, for god's sake, keep your mouth closed when you think of a homonym, " or, " Do you see any of the other kids clapping their hands over their ears and screaming when they hear the fire alarm?"

I chose this passage because it shows her relationship with her father without giving any spoilers. He yells at her a lot in this book.
Mood: This passage really angered and upset me because she really tries to work on her behavior and he just disregards all of her effort. He also lashes out at her about small things, that in the long run, aren't that big of a deal. It also shows that he doesn't understand that she has a incurable mental illness and that can just be fixed by scrutinizing her all the time.
