1. Demetrius wants to marry Hermia, but Hermia likes Lysander.

2. Lysander and Hermia decide to run away into the forest (they tell only Helena about it).

3. Helena tells Demetrius, but goes with him to the forest because he likes him.

4. Oberon finds out and tells fairy to put love potion on Demetrius, but fairy accidentally puts potion on Lysander while he is asleep.

5. Helena finds Lysander and trips over him. Helena is the first person he sees after the potion, so he is in love with her.

6. The fairy finds out it was Lysander, so he just a potion on Demetrius as well.

7. Both Lysander and Demetrius like Helena now, and fight over her.

8. Oberon tells fairy to put a love potion remedy in Lysander's eyes. 

9. Lysander gets the remedy and returns to loving Hermia, and now Helena loves Demetrius, and loves her back, and Lysander and Hermia are back in love, like the start.

10. During this all happened Oberon's wife, Titania, also had a love potion and fell in love with a boy who had a spell casted on to have a donkey head.

11. Oberon removes the love potion from Titania and now she loves Oberon back.

1) Hermia and Lysander are in love; Hermia's father, Egeus, wants her to marry Demetrius; Helena is in love with Demetrius
2) Hermia and Lysander decide to elope and tell Helena but she tells Demetrius.
3) Meanwhile, Oberon and Titania (the king and queen of the faeries respectively) get into a disagreement over who should take possession of a recently abducted changeling child. Oberon tasks Puck with teaching Titania a lesson. Puck find a group of common folk who wish to put on a play, abduct their leader (Bottom) and give him a donkey head. Elsewhere, Oberon gives Titania a love potion and she falls in love with Bottom.
4) Hermia and Lysander are chased in the woods by Demetrius (who is in search of the eloping pair), who is followed by Helena.
5) Oberon and Puck make Lysander (accidental) and Demetrius (intentional) fall in love with Helena. This leads to Lysander and Demetrius challenging each other to a duel for the hand of Helena, who believes that Lysander is simply mocking her.
6) Oberon and Puck reverse most of the effects by separating the four teens and making them fall asleep close to each other, after which they fixed their mistakes and reversed the spells that needed to be reversed and in the end Demetrius & Helena are in love and so are Lysander & Hermia. Meanwhile, Titania is freed as Oberon has already taken the changeling child. Titania is horrified that she has fallen in love with Bottom, who's head is later reverted back to a regular human's head.
7) Theseus arrives at the location of the four teens, who are confused and think that the events of the previous night were simply a dream. Theseus arranges for the two newly made couples to be married on the same day as himself and Hippolyta.
8) A play is performed by some common-folk, one of which was temporarily (up until this point)  cursed with a donkey head and is the subject of torture when Oberon makes Titania fall in love with him.

Three Things I learnt about A Midsummer Night's Dream:
- There are three subplots within the story.
- The common folk decide to perform Pyramus and Thisbe for their king and soon-to-be queen.
- In the end of the play, Oberon gets to take the changeling child.

Plot: Hermia likes Lysander but is when she is forced to marry Demetrius she decides to elope with Lysander. Lysander is given a love potion to fall in love with Helena (it was meant for Demetrius). Hermia attacks and accuses Helena of "stealing" her man. In the end they all love the right people and are found by Theseus.

- The father asks the king Theseus to either convince his daughter to marry Demetrius or execute her.
- Lysander and Hermia decide to elope, run away and end up in a forest, whilst meeting Helena, a person whom Demetrius had once loved and who still loved Demetrius.
- Helena tells Demetrius and starts following him around.
- Meanwhile the king of the faerie and the queen of the faerie are arguing over who should have a changeling boy. The king gets offended and plots to make the queen fall in love with someone so that ,distracted, she would not notice the changeling boy. The king sends his servant Puck, a pranking faerie, to go get a flower that creates love.
- In the forest, Demetrius, Helena, Hermia and Lysander are all sleeping a few feet from each other. 
- Elsewhere in the forest, the workers are organising a play.
- The king of the faerie tells Puck to go and make the young Athenian man fall in love with the girl that is chasing, and Puck mistakenly makes Lysander fall in love with Helena. Puck also makes Demetrius fall in love with Helena. He also gives the head of the Athenian workers an ass's head.
- Puck makes the queen fall in love with the head of the Athenian workers.
- The next morning, Lysander and Demetrius are arguing about who should get Helena, and Hermia is told  by Lysander that he doesn't love her anymore. Hermia is heartbroken.
- Realising the mistake committed, the king of the faerie tells Puck to give everyone an antidote. They wake up to the forces of Athens, to which they explain the situation. Demetrius once again fell in love with Helena, and they marry on the same day as the king Theseus and the queen Hippolyta

Meanwhile, the king and queen fairies are having a fight. Queen Titania has obtained a human servant and she doesn’t want to share him with King Oberon. Oberon decides to take revenge on her by making Puck, the jester fairy, splash some love potion in Titania’s eyes. This would make her fall in love with whoever she first saw after she woke up. 

Oberon then heard of the couple that had run away together, Hermia and Lysander. He found out that Helena had also ran into the woods in hopes of finding them, she was accompanied by Demetrius. When he realised that Helena liked Demetrius, he tried to help by giving Demetrius the love potion and make him fall in love with Helena. He mixed up the people Andy instead of giving it to Demetrius 
,he gave it to Lysander who woke up and immediately saw Helena. He fell in love with her.
