Vicki was diagnosed in June 2019, entered a clinical trial and fought with such heart and bravery. She died on Jan 1st, 2020 at 63 years young. I miss her so much. My friends and I are running a marathon in her honor and to raise funds for PanCan - reading these stories broke my heart but lifted my spirits. One day we will find a cure.

Let 10% Become 100%

I am surviving, I was diagnosed 9/15/19. Fortunately my stage 2 tumor was in the head/neck of my pancreas and I underwent Whipple Surgery 10/3/19. After 7 Folfirinox chemo treatments, my liver was suffering so we stopped chemo. So far, I've had 2 clear scans. I pray to be in the very small group of those whose cancer never returns. And I pray that the 10% five year survival rate grows to 100%. Thank you PanCAN!

In Memory of Mom

Mom was diagnosed early "by accident" in 1992 when 5 year survival rates were only 4%, she was given 4 months but luckily was a candidate for the Whipple which IF she lived thru surgery might live 5 more years. Mom chose to try the Whipple and it was successful ... 27 years and 9 months successful!

I miss Mom everyday and participate in PurpleRideStride to share her gratitude for the years of joy we credit to her Whipple and research done before 1992. We pray for all to experience this gratitude and joy.

Missing you, Mom

Mom was diagnosed in June 2015. She fought incredibly hard but lost her battle on December 4, 2017. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and I miss her terribly. Purple is my new favorite color, from my hair, to my clothes and even the rocks that I collect. I know we were lucky to have 2 1/2 years after diagnosis, but it's not enough. We need to increase survival and I will never stop fighting until we beat this disease. Love you Mom!

My journey with PanCAN began ten years ago after my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He fought a brave fight for 16 years before passing in November of 2011. 19 years will never be enough time with him... So I'll keep fighting the fight he started 10 years ago until no one else has to experience the devastation of pancreatic cancer.
