Namaste,

I know school can be very stressful sometimes, its important to stay centered and continue to feed on positive energy. One of the best ways to stay level headed is to set aside time every day for meditation and reflection. Even just 5 minutes will keep your stress level down. I have found that while in school and working full time I have become very flexible. I think its important to be strong and send out good vibes to the world. I am graduating in 2 months and I am excited to start Graduate school in January at Palmer College of Chiropractic. I hope to incorporate my meditation and holistic knowledge into my practice one day. I look forward to working with you all. I am a transient student so I am just taking this class at FSCJ and I have no idea how to work blackboard and the other programs. Be patient with me. I came from FGCU in Fort Myers.

Any ways, Week 3 was better! The discussion on the Marriott was very interesting. Being a global organization is not small thing. Also, taking on Starwood hotel is something to be proud of. Its interesting to see an organization like the Marriott, whom caters to discounted rooms for the frugal traveler, branch out and want to be apart of a more luxury hotel like Starwood.

In one of my other classes at FGCU we also were using the SWOT model in a case analysis paper for a local agency. Determining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of our research to help this agency better implement Electronic Health Records and while maintaining an overall excellent patient experience. Using SWOT in the assignment in this class, helped reinforce the SWOT concept.

This is my last semester before I graduate which means senior projects and presentations get to drive us a little bit crazy. This week in THIS class, I learned about management processes and the importance of communication. In any business, big or small, communication is very important. In fact I have learned this in many real life instances being a manager in retail. The most recent experience is work a Massage Envy and not having the most clear communication with my managers. This has caused trouble with out co-workers and clients.

I found it really awesome that not only is Zappos customer oriented but its also employee oriented. It takes its employees into great consideration and encourages them to use their ideas and suggestions to help improve the company! That's really awesome! How many times have you been ans employee somewhere and have wanted to change something for the good of the customers and lower status employees. Its great to impose procedures and policies when they aren't effecting you.
