The "new woman," or "flapper," and the popularity of jazz, movies, cars, dance and music clubs, radio, and sports games. Women gained the right to vote in 1920 in the U.S. and were overall pushing for greater rights. The post-WWI era of the 1920s was a time of prosperity and new opportunities. The economy was booming and the middle class was enjoying a higher standard of living. American women earned the right to vote, which gave many young women a new sense of empowerment. The 1920s was also the first decade to have a nickname: “Roaring 20s" or "Jazz Age." It was a decade of prosperity and dissipation, and of jazz bands, bootleggers, raccoon coats, bathtub gin, flappers, flagpole sitters, bootleggers, and marathon dancers.

from culture to life expectancy thanks to developments in technology and healthcare we've come a long way since the orginal 1920s for example life expectancy has increased with the decrease of smoking averages. Back then the average life expectancy was in the late 50s, now life expectancy is between 70s and late 80s.Technology has gotten more advanced for example one of the most important inventions of the 1920s was the invention of radio and television transmission. Although radio transmissions weren’t unheard of, it wasn’t until the 1920s when radio became commercially used. Today, we take the radio and telephone for granted and cars are just part of everyday life. Radio is becoming less popular amongst younger generations, however, it still finds ways to be innovative and exciting to build frequent audiences. These are just a few examples of how much as changed and advanced throughout the years.

1920 similarities to today

Many of the patterns that played out in the 1920s have been playing out in recent years and decades. Accommodative monetary policy fueled debt growth and excessive speculation in the 1920s just as they have today. also, of the many fashion trends that came out of the 1920s, it is the flapper dress that continues to reign supreme. The style, named after the women who wore it, is characterized by a straight and loose silhouette with a drop waist that falls right below the knee.Another similarity between the 1920s and 2020 is the economy – both in their expansion and decline. In the former and the latter, growth was made possible by good levels of inflation and employment, which allowed business to boom.

How did changes related to 1920s "pop culture" affect American society and vice versa?

Pop culture in the 1920s, like jazz music and flapper fashion, reflected the changing attitudes and values of American society. These cultural changes, in turn, influenced society by challenging traditional norms and promoting individualism and freedom. It was a two-way relationship.
