The debate was good, I enjoyed it and I hope we can do it again some time.

But I think the two topics were hard to counter because both of them are correct and it sounded like we were just telling the other team about our topic and not really debating.

I, Sofia Ribeiro, think I talked horribly, because I stuttered a lot.

I also think team 2 was better, because they talked very well.

I dont really talk much, but in my team there werent lots of people who wanted to talk, so I had to talk. I was really embarassed.

I think Toxic relationships is a really important subject to talk about. Toxic relationships can be hard to recognize, and even harder to leave. People stay for so many reasons like fear, emotional attachment, or even thinking things will get better. I feel like talking about it helps us understand the signs and how to support someone who might be stuck in one. It’s definitely something everyone should learn about. Some reasons people dont leave relationship are:

1- The person is afraid of being alone.

2- Financial dependence.

3- The person may fear having children with their partner and that separation could affect them.

4- Hope that the partner will change for the better.

5- Lack of a place to go.

6- Manipulation by the partner.

7- Learned patterns from childhood.

8- The relationship may have cycles of abuse and affection, creating emotional dependence.

9- Self-sabotage.

10- The current relationship may seem safer than starting a new life.

Even though we didn't talk much, it was an interesting and different activity, changing the atmosphere of the room a little to a more fun one. We could have talked more and organized ourselves better so that we can understand.

I think we should have had more time to do it, and maybe the groups could be more calibrated, bc some people couldn’t speak properly or didn’t want to speak, either way it went well i would say

I loved being the spokesperson!

I think the debate was good because we learnt a lot about toxic relationships and how they can affect people. It helped us understand the warning signs and how to deal with them. However, it would have been even better if more people had participated, as different opinions and experiences make discussions more interesting. Hopefully, in the future, more people will feel comfortable sharing their thoughts!
