-The procedure begins when a tube called a catheter is inserted into your belly by your doctor. You will have a dialysis solution which includes water, salt, and other additives in a bag which you can connect to your catheter, this will soak up waste and other extra fluids that you don't need. Once that solution bag is empty you drain the fluid from your belly through the catheter into a drain bag which you can dispose of. Then you begin with another dialysis solution bag.
