Going by this assumption, it can be said that the role of the mathematical community almost acts as a peer review where new mathematical proofs are validated by several knowers in this community and based on their collective perspective and knowledge on mathetmics, they are able to determine to a great degree of accuracy, the validity of the proof. However, at the same time, their collective perspective could be detrimental. It also has aided in understanding the connection between two ideas/thoughts/statements/problems, so that we can use those connections to further build our knowledge in many areas of research. 
The mathematical community also gives new perspectives to verify the proof so presented. If a proof is ;logically sound but mathematically incorrect, all other research based on it will also be mathematically incorrect. Hence, the validity of a proof is determined by the mathematical community.

The mathematical community validates theories by constantly finding loopholes or flaws and exceptions in the theory. It may sound like they are simply trying to disprove the theory, but they are using these methods simply to test the validity of the theories.
