Dear new student of STEM

Let me introduce myself. My name is _____ and I just finished my first year in STEM. it is a very interesting field. We study many areas of technology.

It can be divided into two main parts: practical work and courses. I guess you love practical work as much as I do. It is during the practical work that we produce different projects. We have been able to produce, for example, metal detectors or electronic thermometers. Some of you might think that these aren’t important projects. However, it’s thanks to them that we learn all the basics of robotics.

So you shouldn’t neglect them, without them it’ll be impossible for you to progress.

For the most curious there is the Robotics Club. There we apply all the knowledge that we discover. In particular, it allows us to produce small robots for the French Robotics Cup.

The practical works will fill up a large part of your future schedule. On the other hand, don’t think that the courses are less important. Indeed the courses are also very present in this sector. It includes all the scientific subjects to work on theory, and we add the expression communication and English. I advise you to work a lot on theory and English.

Theory is basics of your knowledge and English is your future means of communication.

English courses are not like hight school courses. You’re going to discover the language lab. It is a place where you will work on your understanding but also your ability to make yourself understood in a group.

The most complicated thing in this branch is getting up to the level. Indeed, at the beginning of the year, students don’t all come from the same field of study. Some are amazing in theory and others are better in practice. Personally, I had had a baccalaureate S. So, I had no problem with theory. On the other hand, I clearly saw that I wasn’t at the same level in practice. But don’t worry. In this course you will work in pairs, and thanks to that you will have no problem to catching up. Moreover, if your problem is theory then the teachers will

On the other hand, I clearly saw that I was not at the same level in practice. But don't worry. In this course you will work in pairs, and thanks to that you will have no problem catching up. Moreover, if your problem is theory then the teachers will be there to help you.

The most important thing is to know what you’re going to do with that degree. That’s what will motivate you.

After this BUT you can continue your studies by going either to engineering schools or to the faculty. Otherwise you can directly work in the field of electricity and computer science. The most important things is to set yourself goals.

I hope you will enjoy your first year in STEM.

Good luck with it .

June, 8th 2020.

Dear students,

I am writing this letter to prepare you as best as possible for the years of study that you will be going through.

Indeed, during the preparation of this degree in electrical engineering and computer Science for the industry, you will learn many very gripping things. You will have theoretical and practical courses on subjects such as electronics, electricity, energy or computer science and automation. These will be at the heart of your learning but you will complete your knowledge with communication and English courses.

Besides, thanks to this, you will be able to participate in different projects. First, you will make small guided proposals like the realization of a metal detector. Then, you will be much more autonomous and the projects will be more exciting. For instance, you will participate in home automation projects. The purpose is to be able to work after graduation.

However, it’s possible to continue studying. Actually, you can do a professional bachelor to specialize, you can also do great studies in very good engineering schools or continue in bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Concerning professional careers, you will work in the fields of electrical engineering, computer programming, automation and, sometimes, with a specialization, you will do some physics and mechanics to carry out projects in your company.

But to get to that, and to be graduated, you have to work first. As always, perseverance and hard work are the keys to success. I advise you to not let yourself be overwhelmed by work. Indeed, if you follow the courses, if you don’t neglect any matter, and if you are still present, then you will be very successful in your studies.

Personally, I sometimes had difficulties in some more complex subjects such as electronics. As a matter of fact, I had a lot of work and the practical work was tricky at the beginning but I persevered, and I succeeded, you can all do the same.

Thank you, and I wish you the very best for the future.

Best regards.

Dear prospective students,

I’m glad to learn that you are interested in GEII (electrical engineering and industrial data processing) department. Our department is located in the thirteenth arrondissement of Marseille. In this letter I will present what is taught in the first year and the different projects that we work on. I will also give you advices on the do’s and don’t then what difficulties I faced during the first year and lastly I will give answers about the possible further studies after your graduation.

The courses and project in the first year of GEII:

The courses in our GEII department is divided in 3 parts for the main subjects, first we have lectures with the entire school year, in this class we have to impregnate ourselves with the subject discussedthen we switch to theoretical tutorials also called TD’s, here we do exercise on the subjects previously seen in lectures. Finally when we have learned the necessary knowledge we are doing practical tutorials in which we apply our newly learned skills in work condition.

Besides, whereas the school let you access their hardware and supplies to make your own personal project during first year, you’d have to wait the third semester to start school sanctioned project, which would be taken into account for your final marks.

Some advice:

I will give you some meagertips but they are the only ones you will need to succeed in GEII.

Dears futures students;

It is in these few words that I will present the training that you will follow. For starters I would like to present the training in general (GEII). It is a specialized training in electronics is the computing of embedded systems. You will be able to study systems to realize them which is always exciting for all students. Let me also give you these few tips; do not neglect any subject and always follow the teachers' explanations. If you have any questions the teachers will always be there to answer you but it's up to you to come forward. I also take this opportunity to give you a little summary of my journey. I was not the best but I always made an effort to graduate. At the beginning I had a hard time integrating well because I didn't know anyone and I was far from my country and my relatives, it was a handicap for me. What made it more difficult for me was being able to familiarize myself with computers because I never had one before entering university. I believe that you will not be in the same case as me and even if it is the case I believe that you too will succeed because I did it. To finish I want to tell you about the different applications of this diploma. in fact, this diploma with a multitude of outlet, you will be able to work in the field of robotics, aeronautics, electronics, automation, where home automation and many others. The most pleasant, is that you will have a wide choice in the industrial environment, this is the advantage of this training.

Hoping that you will also find your account in this training I send you my greetings.
