         <title>Blog one: Introduction </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My name is Olivia and I am working with Roxana. Our objective is to create fun active activities for level 1 supported studies students. Supported studies students are students of a lower academic level, because of this the activities levels will be simple so they can be easily understood. Both me and Roxana will have a time span of 30 minutes to do the activities, with both of us having equal time to lead the activities. We will complete the activities for the students in a sports hall with sports equipment provided for each activity. <br>Our roles during the 30 minutes will be to get the activities ready, including organising all the equipment. We will also explain the activities and the rules, perhaps demonstrating for the students to gain a better understanding, one of us will also be keeping score during the 30 minutes. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Blog two: Planning and preparing</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today we were given the task and put into our pairs. We then had to brain-storm ideas of activities that we can potentially do and think about which are suitable and rules that there should be for them activities to make sure it has basic rules and can be easily understood by the students. Another couple of ideas that we had was norts and crosses with hula hoops and beans and the third activity that we had was sit down volleyball.<br><strong>Special considerations</strong><br> We have too consider the types of people that will be taking part in the activity; some people will have different physical needs and many will have be low levelled students as it is a 'supported studies' group who may have difficulty understanding the rules of the game. For all the students to participates and understand the activity we must be able to find something for everyone to do and to also simplify the activity so students do not get bored or frustrated with not being able to understand the game.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Blog three: The chosen activity </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We have chosen the activity 'football rounders'. This game is very similar to rounders but with the difference of using a football instead, we will always simplify a few rules so the students can have a better understanding of the game. <br><br>Understanding of the game <br>There will be two teams; the fielders and the batters. <br>Fielding team<br>There will be a bowler (the person who will be rolling the ball), one person on each of the four bases, one back stop standing behind the batter (Incase any balls are missed or balls go behind the batter the backstop can quickly get too the ball) and the rest of the team will be the fielders (any balls which are hit, the fielders will get them). <br>Batting team<br>Batters will stand in the box and will try to kick the ball when it gets rolled to them. After kicking the ball, the batter will try to run through all four bases to get a full rounder. <br><br>Rules<br>-If the kicker misses the ball more than 3 times then the kicker has to run to first base. <br>- If the base gets the ball before the kicker has reached the base whilst they are running then the kicker is out. <br>- Once the bowler has the ball and everyone has ran to the bases then all running must stop.<br><br>Scoring<br>If a kicker runs all the way around the bases then they get 2 points <br>If a kicker gets to second base on one run then they get 1 point<br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Blog four: Health and safety </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Before starting the activity we will need to make sure that our risk assessment is filled in correctly with all potential risks thought about and done something about them risks. To lower the risk we will make sure to tell all participants to be careful before the activity. Before the activitiy gets started, all participants will need to make sure that their bags and belongings are to the side so no one trips over them.<br>Whilst the participates are rolling the ball they will need to make sure to keep the ball on the floor and to not throw it at each other, this will make sure everyone playing is safe. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>If there were not enough participants or if not everyone is wanting to do the activitiy than we will have to change the activitiy and adapt to the situation. We will also have to change the activitiy if the participants and not enjoying themselves.&nbsp;<br>If we were to change the activitiy then we would change it to knots and crosses with hula hoops and bean bags.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Full activitiy rehearsal</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We made an equpimemt list for Jack the College sports teacher, we then picked up the equipment that we needed for our activity. After collecting all the correct amount of equipment was needed we then made our way down to the sports hall at 12:30. After getting to the sports hall we each in turns set up our activities and practised them to see how well they were working and to see what else we could add or improve to it. We discussed whether it would be better to set up our activitiy horizontal or vertical, we decided that after seeing how many people are there on the day is when we would decided which way would be better. Another rule that we decided was that if a ball bounced off the wall and then someone was to catch it then the player who kicked would be out.&nbsp;<br>No players will be fully out of the game, they will just go to the back of the line so they will have another go. We will time the game and both teams will have an equal amount of time being fielders and batters. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the activity I set up, explained the rules and scoring, made the students aware of health and safety, scored and timed the game. I was very verbal during the activity, making sure all students could hear me and taking control of the activity.<br>During the activity I was encouraging the students always; whether they were doing good or not so good, encouring them to keep going and to do their best.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Only two students sat out of of the activity so their was about 10 students to a team, which made for a fun and competitive activity. The location of the where we had our activity was very useful and we had an efficient amount of space as the students were kicking the ball and running, we also had all the resources and equpiment that was needed. All students were very well behaved during the activity and there were know accidents.<br>All students looked to be having a lot of fun and enjoyment during the activity and were all very competitive, which made for all of them to try their best. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Blog five: Assisting the activity</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During setting up the activity and the activity itself I think I done well and kept control of the students. I asked the students to stand on one line so everyone could see and hear me and explained the aim of the activity, after asking if everyone understood and if anyone had any questions.&nbsp;<br>Before the activity had begun I asked if the students could be careful when running and made them aware of the cones which were placed on the floor so no one would slip over on them.&nbsp;<br>Once the activity had begun I kept the scoring of each team and the timing for when the teams needed to change over.&nbsp;<br>After the activity was over I picked up all the equipment and put it to the side away from where any students would be running so that the next group to quickly set up. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>How did I manage the group?<br>I managed the group by splitting them up into two teams by using a 1,2,1,2,1,2.. system to fairly split the group. I made sure that everyone knew the rules of the game before starting to no one would be confused during the game.&nbsp;<br>How did I use effective communication?&nbsp;<br>From the very start I introduced myself to the group letting everyone know my name and spoke clearly and loudly so the whole group could hear me, so that there was no misunderstanding during the game. By introducing myself, it got the groups attention so that they listened from the beginning.<br>How did I manage behaviour?&nbsp;<br>As they are a low learner group I expected there may be students that did not want to participate or may disrupt the activity. I asked the group 'who would like to partipcate'. I encouraged everyone to participate but also politely asked the students who did not want too, to sit at the side and to not disrupt the rest of the students. The group were all very well behaved throughout the whole activity.<br>Evaluate the venue and equipment I used.<br>I used 7 cones to set up my activity and also used a soft ball for the students to be able to kick. All equipment was in good condition and the ball was inflated well. The activity took place at Harlow leisure centre, we used half a court indoors which was more than enough space for the acitivity to take place and was plenty of room for the students to kick the ball a fair distance and run around the cones. The venue and equipment were both in good condition and ideal for the type of activity which I was running. </div>]]></description>
