This artwork is showing a boy and things that interest him, Also the drawing was a pastel to paper artwork. This is a medium size in the center of my work I have added a boy with a sunflower stem wrapped around his left leg that goes up to his heart where the yellow sunflower is shown. The background of this artwork is a triangle pattern and the colors of the design are random but primarily warm colors.

The vase is a 7'5" X 4'5". The color of the vase is an Emerald Green with about an inch of a black infinite design around the middle of the vase. When making the case it was kind of hard because I'd never used the method I used while making that vase. It turned out to be a really nice emerald green with a gloss around the whole vase.

The handles are cured to the sides of the bowl and have holes to the flat side of them. The color of the bowl is half emerald green and half sky blue. In the process of making this bowl, I first had to learn how to actually use the pottery wheel and practice. After a couple of tries, I got one of my bowls perfect and made it the one I'm using for this project. This feast bowl was inspired by the people in Papua New Guinea.

The silverware is positioned in different directions that are glued down with hot glue. What they are glued onto is a very long board of wood which is a dark brown color. In the center of it, there's a butter knife that had a pattern of flowers. Most spoons are small but some are big. While making this it wasn't as difficult but I had to find ways to improve it and make it the best it could be. As I was making the piece I had to clean it up and when I did some other pieces would fall and I would have to re-glue them and wait even more which would make it difficult for me to work on more improvement. When looking at the artwork I can see many reflections of myself due to the spoon in sizes big and small.

The objects are floating in a seamlessly endless abyss. There are two columns on each side of the hands and the heart. The art I made is significant to how I feel when I am feeling anxious, like I am out of reach with myself. That isn't the only inspiration in the art however, to add more about myself I added the pillars which signify a band I like's cover art, plus it adds symmetry to the piece. I chose to give the piece vibrant colors on top of pitch black because it adds contrast to the piece and makes you focus on the art more rather than the background.

The disc holder has a circular base made of smooth wood which is about 1 inch thick and 8 inches in diameter & in the center there is a wooden dowel which is 1 cm thick while being 7 inches tall. This disc holder is painted with the base color of black. It is also decorated with intentional splatters of glow in the dark / neon paint. The top or lid for the disc holder is a matted, clear plastic used for the discs to be seen even when covered. The color of paints being used were neon pink, neon yellow, teal, and glow ink the dark green, yellow, and pink. These colors are used to express the nostalgic feeling found in the 1980's to the early 2000's. The color palette is also used to show a visual of partying or celebration while also being quite complementary to the reflective and colorful nature of the DVDs / CDs. I hoped for the holder to demonstrate a joyous and amusing time to remember from the decades before us, hence the name, Reminisce.

Kimberlee Fields
Mrs. Watson
Abstract Me, 2022
Mixed media on paper (Colored paper, Colored pencil, Markers, & pencil)

20" X 13"

The artwork, called Abstract Me, that I created is very bright and creative. This artwork is supposed to somewhat reflect me. This piece is made by mixed media such as colored paper, colored pencils, graphite pencils, and markers. I decided to create my body map as a full body view without showing most of the lower half. The artwork shows the depiction of the head to the knees. It is colored by many bright colors and is surrounded by white to contrast the colorful palette and dark black background. What is placed in the dark background is giants, colorful shapes that seem to glow and create light within the darkness. The colors found in the shapes are red, orange, yellow, pink, green, blue, and purple which are quite a wide variety of colors. What makes this masterpiece special is the parts to which the body is abstract. The head is left with the least amount of color with just white, black, and hints of brown. Then there is the torso that is the most abstract part of the piece that is covered with many bright colors and wacky and/or wild shapes and patterns.Lastly there are the limbs such as the arms and legs. The limbs are spread out with hints of color like blue, pink, purple, & brown upon the white surface. Within the entire piece are portions of the body being surrounded/marked by the things that I like. In the torso there is a heart-shaped tomato which is there because of my love for tomatoes and how it is good for your heart. Then on the lower half of the torso there is a cross which is there to symbolize my love and belief in Jesus Christ who is therefore, now a part of my life. As you continue to examine the body there is flowers and growth on my left hand which depicts my love for nature, a neon city scene on my right arm which shows my liking to bright yet dark cities, a hidden paintbrush near my upper torso that explains art being one of my hobbies, and lastly video games and TVs on my right leg which shows my appreciation for video games being part of my childhood. Overall the artpiece is covered with shapes and bright colors due to my liking to their simple yet extraordinary value in life. To evaluate this art piece is to realize through the working process all these things that matter in my life whether big or small. Overall, I believe Abstract Me really shows me when I see it. It is together yet apart, bright yet dim, it shows parts of me that I didn’t know I cared about so much in my life. In conclusion, that artwork would be… me.

Kimberlee Fields
Mrs. Watson
Bright & Endless, 2022

Mixed media (board, coloured pencils, markers, coloured paper, glue, etc.)

18" x 20 1/2"
The artwork I call Bright & Endless, is a large, bright and creative piece. This artwork is meant to depict limitlessness, being unbound, or to say… endlessness. This artwork is made by mixed media such as a board, coloured pencils, markers, coloured paper, & glue. I created this artwork to show a form of no limit or end in a grand and colorful way. The piece is composed of two separate boards made by many types of media that hold many colors. One part of the board is a gradient, yellow spiral. The color is strong and vibrant at the edge of the paper and fades into a solid white towards the center. This illusion is made by a mixture of colored pencils & markers. The same is done for the other part of the board except the main color being blue. In these spirals of the two, there are many great other colors within it such as blue, yellow, green, and purple. The two parts of the artwork also have a great amount of small, sharp shapes of squares, rectangles, and triangles swirling around within the spirals. All of the shapes are different colors such as pink, green, dark/light blue, and purple. Some of these shapes are construction paper and others are embedded in the spirals using colorful markers and pens. I also added small groups of colorful dots dispersed & left to contrast the dominant color of the piece. Both pieces are cut and shifted to different and unique areas like a puzzle. Because of their beautiful contrast of light and dark hues in their mixture of pieces, it makes the artwork look bright, complete, and elegant when placed and joined together. Some pieces of the artwork are big and some are small but each part is significant, both blue and yellow. Overall, I believe the composition of this piece is a creative & unique way of illustrating the lack of a limit or end. The continuous swirls with white centers create the illusion of the piece being connected or chained together. The artwork looks quite infinite while still maintaining the illuminating & bright colors. The artpiece is indeed bright and endless.

The contents of each side are opposite to the base color, as in bright to dark and dark to bright. I made this piece to show that in opposites, we all have similar qualities without realizing. At first glance, looking at the artwork, each side looks completely different. There is a reason for its name, of course. That is when you open the pot where there is a tiny table decorated with a variety of food within it. This artwork was made by the molding of clay and the painting of many glazes (underglaze and clear glaze). The ceramic is in a 3D, rectangular form painted with clear glaze and underglazes of many different colors. The ceramic was painted with bright blue as the base color and is then decorated with a pattern of exes in two different ways. The exes are orange and dragon red, taking turns for who goes next. Hints of leaf green are seen on it around the exes created. The lid of the ceramic is another story. The lid matches the length and width of the ceramic to fit and it has a diamond - shaped knob on top for it to be able to open. Most of the lid is colored with china white except for the knob which is bright blue. The inside of the ceramic holds a small feast. There is a table full of food usually spread for thanksgiving dinner. The brown table has things like macaroni and cheese, green beans, turkey, sweet potato pie, apple pie, dressing, ham, corn, cranberry sauce, biscuits, and a gravy boat placed on it. All of these things are tiny and small but still makes the tiny area look alive. Overall, the pottery shows the mood of a handed - down dish for a homemade thanksgiving meal and when opened, it surprises you with a feast you would never expect.

This piece is significant to the controlling and brainwashing of people which have no say or power in what happens, these people being controlled by their superiors or their government. Simply trained to serve one sole purpose and then be tossed to the side once they are not capable. i created the emphasis on the table so it would be the first thing you look at, you see these terrible, disgusting things on platters, which distract you from the higher being orchestrating the events below.

The piece has a human figure in the middle with tears running down the side of their face. the tears fall into what looks to be a vat with a strange figure inside of it, the more you look, it seems to be a fetus. I drew this part to show the preservation of their childhood, the person cannot move on from what has happened simply because they have held onto their emotion for so long. behind them is a large shelf, full of jars with the same liquid. I put this in my piece to show that they have been doing this over a long period of time, emptying their vat only slightly, this leads to anticipations of the vat running over and eventually breaking or spilling. On the very outside of the piece I have drawn a complete abyss, I wanted to emphasize how stranded and abandoned the person felt, simply alone.

Erika Ramirez
Mrs. Watson
Deep Imagination, 2022

Watercolor and acrylic on paper

9" x 12"
This artwork is about a human being deeply focused, with a background similar to a galaxy with graffiti letters. When analyzing the art piece I want the people to focus on the girl laying down who interprets her deeply being focused on her endless thoughts, and imagination. I also wanted them to analyze the background and acknowledge how a galaxy can be limitless like a human mind. When they interpret the art piece I want the person to acknowledge the theme of limitlessness within themselves and how deeply our thoughts and imagination can go. Overall I want the viewer to see and be drawn to the calm colors and the measures of their mind. I would also like them to evaluate the contrast of the colors. I would also like the people to evaluate how a person inner mind and outer self can look like in a relax focus self.

Erika Ramirez
Mrs. Watson
A Century Feast, 2022

Acrylic on canvas paper

9" x 12"
This artwork centers on what you would see in part of a table during feast dinner such as fruit, vegetables and flowers. Also the background and the table embrace a certain mood. This artwork includes many line and small details such as the table cloth and vases. Also the original canvas paper gives texture to the table almost like it was a real table cloth itself. Also the neutral colors give off a home, calm feel. The idea of the background and the tablecloth was to give off a home feel. For the idea of the title "A Century Feast" was to interpret what was on the table such as the fruit, vegetables and flowers because people have used it for centuries in feast dinners and celebrations. Overall this art work demonstrate the fresh flowers, fruit and vegetables, its elegance and the special value these items have.

The artwork is also in shape of photo cards. The artwork is two dimensional the colors are vivid and bright while others are darker. There are also many shapes such as circles for heads, lines for the crossword and more. The colors also give a joyful mood. The meaning of this artwork is unlocking a collection of photo cards in your memories of the progression of your childhood, but also bringing back good and happy feelings and memories. This art work is eye-catching because there are many small details and colors that catch your eye, but this artwork is also relatable to many people.

Madison Henry
Mrs. Watson
The Modernized Feast, 2022
Marker and colored pencils on paper
9 1/2 '' X 13''
This entire piece I created was a resemblance to "The Last Supper", but in a more modernized style with a cartoon-ish look. Analyzing it, you can see all the little details on the food, clothes, and people. The plain but presentable background shows that where the feast is being held is in a small building with nothing but a dining table with a tablecloth and chairs. The meaning of this piece represents how Jesus and his disciples had a final meal together since Jesus wouldn't be there again. In my form however, it represents the first meal in the present where even though there have been tough times, we still come together as one. The importance of this drawing is meaningful and in the book of God.

Katherine Higgins
Mrs. Watson
Am I Enough, 2022
Watercolor and magazine on paper
22" X 15"
The piece "Am I Enough" is a large sheet of watercolor paper covered in uneven purple paint, various collages, and topped off with a cohesive coat of gloss. The collages are from magazines targeted toward young adult women, such as Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and Allure, targeting misogynistic quotes and ideals, such as the importance of makeup, the male gaze, and sex appeal. The quotes seem to focus on the idea that women must change something about themselves in order to appeal more to men, whether it be losing weight, changing their personality, or adjusting their normal hair and makeup to seem sexier. This piece is to be interpreted as a call-out on our current society and how it pertains to respecting women. Women in western society are often encouraged to change every aspect of themselves that is not traditionally feminine in order to please men. Am I Enough is a distressed cry for change in our society and shows the viewer how unrealistic standards can affect her development.

The reason I have created this art piece like this is because I wanted to give my work a feeling and texture instead of it being just flat. This artwork was started around August 9th and finished a month later in September first of 2022. It would most likely have been done earlier if I wouldn't have gotten sick. "Inside Stevens Head" is not what you think, when you think about what is inside someones actual head. The art piece was created more as a metaphor or imagery to describe the goals and thoughts of my mind.

The reason I have created this art piece like this is because I wanted to give my work a more unique look instead of it being glazed with just one color. This artwork started around September 14 and finished all the way through September 28. Although there was going to be more to the piece, with a more detailed and realistic look to what a river would look like, it was not possible due to the time. This is a loop to represent something that never ends just like the seed "limitless" which is something with no ends.

The art piece is an outline of a person, inside are different images and drawn on stitches symbolizing what brings me together to represent who I am as a person. I have drawn books to represent my interest in books, I included to draw make up in my artwork to represent how I like to do makeup and getting ready to look presentable. I have drawn art supplies to symbolize how I have a passion for art and how I can put my creativity on a piece of paper, not just paper but build it. I decided to incorporate Orchids in my piece because they symbolize beauty, strength, faith and luxury. For the more serious meaningful symbols, I have decided to draw a heart and figures representing how my family will always be in my heart and to show my love for them. I drew the eagle on the Mexican flag and an Iguana to show how proud I am to be apart of such a beautiful culture. The iguana represents a state in Mexico called Guerrero which is where my parents are from. From Guererro they are known for their iguanas and even have a certain song and dance to enjoy and dance to at parties. Lastly I drew vines wrapping around the leg of the person to show growth and how everyday I am growing to become a better version of myself.

To be honest when you saw this artwork you just thought it was space and not really anything that special. but this artwork means more than that it represents the word limitless because it never ends and there are unlimited things people can do with space because it never ends which is just crazy to think that there is a place outside earth that never ends. It also could represent the human mind just think about it. space is a black void that never ends and the mind is a body part that has unlimited memories and can make connections throughout the body. I don't know if it's just me who thinks that but that's what I think about when I see space. but I guess there are billions of things that outer space could be compared too.

In my artwork I included a contrast by doing one side with bright subtle colors with watercolor and doing the other side of hues of black and gray with acrylic paint. In the middle of the paper I glued down three spaced out pieces of paper going vertical. I outlined two people staring at each other and began to fill out the negative spaces with a drawing of two skeletons, still including the spaces. For the rest of the spaces I colored the outline of the people really bright and colorful with colored pencil. The girl is colored with warm tones and the boy is colored in cool toned colors. In the background of the people there was still space so to fill it out i just did the color of the rainbow. Then second to last I spattered white paint on the dark side and splattered black paint on the ligt side, I did this to add more contrast to the painting and to signify that it's good to have someody else to have because it just completes the whole look in real life and in my painting. Lastly I punctured two holes, one on each side of the people and tied a red yarn in the middle to resemble soul ties.

The base of the sculpture is glazed in forest green, similar to the thickest and roundest mushroom. Four mushrooms live on top of the base: a royal blue cone-shaped mushroom with a lilac topping, a light blue dome-shaped mushroom with a thin white stem, a short, round, and green mushroom with black dots covering the top, and a flared-out red mushroom with white dots. Each mushroom represents a different aspect of what it means to be a mushroom, with different heights, colors, and shapes. This piece is to be interpreted as how there is no limit on what mushrooms can be, and how we should think of ourselves as mushrooms without limits or boundaries. Field of Fungi is an optimistic chant for individuality.

Sara Muro
Mrs. Watson
Evolution of the Mind, 2022
Mixed media on paper
1’5” X 1’1”
At the center of the artwork a space craft resembling the international space station creates symmetry that unites the objects around it. The space craft brings unity in the colors as there is reflective water color in the objects that are above and under. As well as the black and earth like tones that act as neutral colors that are meant to compliment the red in the objects above and under. On top of the space craft there are eyes that are silver in the part of the eye that is supposed to be white. In the pupils there is paper that was glued on from a dictionary. This was used as a way to show how literature can spread knowledge. There are also red lines that have curves that look like wrinkles to show the eyes represent those of an older and wiser person, further showing how literature is an important part of human knowledge and evolution. Above the eyes there is a red shape that is there to act as a sun and the circle pieces of paper that are beside it are there to represent the planets. Under the space craft there is a person with their arms out. The body is made up of dictornary paper and the head has reflective silver watercolor. There is also two figures beside the person that appear to be whispering. These people are there to act as humans interacting with one another and spreading knowledge, which is why the bigger figures hands are spread out. The color red is also a bold color which is there to emphasize knowledge. There are cut out jagged pieces of paper with reflective outlines. This is meant to show how knowledge has allowed humans to not just get to know ourselves, but the universe as well. The artwork overall is meant to show the significance of how knowledge has taken us to places that one would not have imagined.

Sara Muro
Mrs. Watson
Bloom, 2022

Colored pencil and oil pastel on paper
17”x17”
The artwork consists of mainly cool colors with some warm colors in the center. The geometric shape is made up of circles that then were turned into a variety of patterns within the lines. The overall shape of the artwork came from the painted ceiling of a Cathedral so as I continue to work on it, it should turn into a more architectural figure than just shapes. Though the piece consists mainly of circles when looking closely you can see other shapes, such as: squares, triangles, rectangles. Since the outline of the circles comes from a Cathedral I wanted to show how even architecture can be limitless in terms of what we want to express through it. While looking at the reference picture I saw many possibilities of what could be made out of the circles. I wanted to reflect how that could also happen within a person. Though we may have beliefs that derive from society or a close relative, we can interpret it our own ways, as well as coming up with different conclusions. The colors also have meaning, as brown can symbolize vastness which I saw as possibilities. The color blue can mean depth, so together they are meant to reflect the great possibilities we can come across in design and thinking, how far we dive is up to us. The artwork is meant to cause viewers to think about the depths of ones believes. Continuing with the theme of limitless I wanted to expand that to the limitless possibilities within ourselves and how our ideas may bloom into something larger than the original seed. Making this artwork required lots of patience and precision. Measuring and making sure things were centered was important as one wrong measurement could shift the entire thing.

This was made on purpose. It was meant to look like an eye, very asymmetrical. There is also a rough texture on the inside and outside made by a wooden tool in a swiping motion. On the inside, there is a drawing of an eye although it's not a realistic eye at all. The eye is supposed to look hazy and unfocused. This is only meant to give it a creepy atmosphere. The inspiration for this piece came from past ceramics I've seen that has an eye in the center. Although there's had a meaning of the eye being from a loved one, mine is just of someone staring right at the user. I also made it a dish so that it can be used in everyday life and to eat food from. A decoration to feast off of.

I was inspired to create a collection of some of my favorite songs. So, while listening to them, I would get ideas of how each song felt or looked like and putting it one paper. At first, I used different medias, but then I learned that I enjoyed collaging much more, and after that I continued to collage each artwork. Each piece is 5 inches by 5 inches and I glued them onto a stiff board with less that half an inch of spacing between them. Their position on the board also have a significance aesthetic wise.

I wanted to capture an intimate interaction between two people to portray that sensation of love. When it comes to the structure, the placement, the coloring, the shading, they are all different because I believe that everyone feels or shows love differently. Focusing on the colors, I wanted them to be bright especially in the areas that highlight our faces to give a more define face structure without focusing on adding exact features such as eyes, noses, cheekbones, etc.

Vanessa Toscano
Mrs. Watson
Flowers of Delight, 2022
Acrylic on canvas
18" X 24"
Following the feast seed, there is nothing more beautiful than the centerpiece that ties the dinner together. A grand centerpiece allows for a space to become welcoming and adds to the display of a feast. However, it is not just made for when having a large dinner, it can bring light and care to detail in our everyday lives. I wanted to do a flower centerpiece for this seed as I feel like a table centerpiece hold a purpose when we think of a feast. A feast in my eyes is a gathering, grand and elegant, and what is more elegant than a flower arrangement that draws the eye. I wanted to add a variety of flowers, different colors, shapes, and sizes in order to make it appear lively and "full". In order to reach the effect I wanted, I went for a darker background to make the flowers colors pop. This also helped with allowing the vase to appear very saturated against the already bright flowers and the dark background.

For example, when parents decide to buy your school photos every year, you are able to see that transition of age and growth. I wanted to emphasize on the collection of time. From the moment we are first born opening our eyes to the world, to living in curiosity, color, and fun, the moody years where you want to live life to the fullest, finding maturity and taking on the responsibility of adulthood, to the point where life has been fulfilled and the wrinkles become more apparent. It's the beauty of life itself, watching others and ourselves grow mentally and physically. We appreciate the past, present, and future and with these collections we reflect on the person we have become.

The hips are thin, the ribcage is protruding, the fingers are long and bony, and the chest and shoulders are comically large. This was an expression and somewhat a romanticization of my physical insecurities in the form of an alien. These 'protruding features' feel very obvious to me, including the feeling that my words seem to 'spill out' from my head, as shown in white colored pencil in the piece. The world around me at times feels too sporadic, which causes me to feel like an alien who leads with its heart instead of its head and simply wants to express. I think that because of our constant desire for understanding our identities as human beings, our self-interrogations cause us to find ourselves feeling more like an outsider than ever before, or feeling like 'too much' for other people. Protruding is both a representation and a redemption for those who have ever felt like an unpredictable alien on an all too predictable planet.

Its moon-like surface is adorned with neutral fabric, tinsel-lined fabric, a photo of Neil Armstrong on a copy of Time magazine, a small calendar cutout, and a quote. A flag made from a broken pen waves an image of David Bowie's partially shown face. A large, slanted sphere of earth-toned yarn emerges from the landscape, representing a globe. There is a theme of pollution and outer space existing simultaneously, as the moon-like and planet-like foundations are nearly completely covered in human ideas and materials, such as the calendar which represents the illusion of time. Inspired by David Bowie songs such as Space Oddity and Ashes to Ashes, the sculpture represents how humanity's reach is limitless, in both positive and negative ways. We have access to the whole world around us, yet this idea of being "limitless" includes environmental issues, overpopulation, and drug abuse. The plethora of small details on the sculpture reflects the sheer amount of information and ideas that exist on Earth, from man-made products to cultural identities. Space Oddity is meant to be overwhelming, and it certainly achieves this goal through asymmetry, abstract shapes and colors, and a purposefully "messy" look.
