This assessment includes two informational texts about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. In the past, these concepts were only taught in the ELA classroom. Now, we have decided to work on them in Social Studies, as well. Susan will teach the ELA concepts and Katie will administer and review the assessment in Social Studies.

Our discussion went beyond one lesson and into how to best support our students in every lesson. We have put together a detailed extended standards binder complete with each extended standard covered for the quarter and developed at least one activity per standard.
