As students view the slideshow, they will identify and record the steps in a mass production process (the cotton industry), learning about the preparation for the cotton crop; seed planting; irrigation and the efficient use of water by Australian cotton farmers; integrated pest control; harvesting; separating the fibre from the seeds in the cotton gin; exporting cotton from Australia to Asia; combing and spinning cotton fibre; weaving and sewing cotton textiles, including denim; and cotton's use in jeans.
