Журавлева

Dear Sebastian, I've just finished a short language course in Scotland and I want to tell you about it. My course was not that long, only two weeks, but in such a short time I received very useful knowledge, and it even seems to me that my level of English has changed during this time. There were 40 people in our group, including 4 teachers. During the entire course we had 5 language lessons, the lessons were long, but very interesting! I learned new rules, understood where I always made mistakes. Also during the course we went to a museum, art and sports. I really liked that even outside the language lesson they spoke English to us and taught us new words. For me it was a good experience, because I learned something new and had a wonderful time, there were wonderful people in our group who explained the material well and maintained a dialogue. I think I will attend a similar course again someday. Perhaps my letter interested you too, if you think about the course, then I can recommend this course! Your dear friend Sofia

Титова

Dear Mila, Hi! I have just finished a short course in Scotland and I want to tell you about it. The course lasted from June 1st to July 11th. Despite the fact that the course was so short, I gained enough knowledge. We had a good timetable, we did sports, drew, walked and studied a lot of English. Our group consisted of 30 people, 4 of whom were teachers. They explained the material well, and thanks to them I was able to learn many interesting rules and exceptions in the English language. The students in our class were from different countries, but I was able to find a common language with everyone. We had a good time together, helped each other and just talked. Now, it seems to me, the desire to study English has only increased! I would like to attend this course again. Waiting for your answer, Mila! See you.

Селищева

Dear Evelyn!

I want to tell you so many things! I have just returned from Scotland where I took a language course. It was just an incredible adventure! Remember I told you that I want to improve my language? So, I made up my mind and went to Scotland. Every day we had classes with native speakers. We talked about various topics, discussed culture, read texts and even watched films. It was very interesting, and I made significant progress in the language! And in my free time I tried to make the most of all the opportunities. My classmates and I went on excursions, visited castles, and walked along ancient streets. One day we even went hiking in the mountains! The views were simply amazing! The people I met on the courses were very different. There were students from different parts of the world: Spain, Italy, Japan. We talked a lot, spent time together, cooked dinner. It was a great experience that allowed me to meet people from different cultures.

Scotland is an amazing country with a rich history and beautiful nature. I fell in love with this country and will definitely return there again.

How are you? What's new with you?

Your friend Lera

Рудоман

Dear Ann,

I`ve just finished a short language course in Scotland and it actually has blown my mind. So i want to tell you about it.

This course programme started on the 15 August and it lasted 3 weeks. The most essential idea of this class was rising up the language skills for people who came from abroad. Our group consisted of 25 people, and 20 of them were students, other 5 were coaches.

We didn`t have plenty of time for a rest, because 3 times a week we had lectures, other 3 times a week we had practise language lessons, where we were speaking about different issues which surround us every day in our routine life, whe had a lot of impressive discussions about Scotland, it`s culture, interesting facts and ecological problems. Of course, sometimes we were playing table games, sports games and just walking for a walk. By the way, we had only one day off when we had our spare time for a rest, but it was enough.

Thanks God, people were really nice, sociable and friendly. Despite of the course finished 2 weeks ago, I still message with some of them and we even plan our next language course together again.

So, in my opinion, it was really helpful, I made the most of this programme and I can see the result, because this course just broadened my mind.

Unfortunately, I need to help my sister with her homework, but I will wait for your answear.

Write soon!

Лера Рудоман

To my mind, a good teacher has strong relationships with their students by being warm, avaliable, and kind. Without a doubt, a good teacher would be good at explaining things, using modern methods. Moreover, I think a good teacher would be fair in marking.

As for a good student, they have no less responsibility for their aducation. A good student works hard, makes good progress. He/she has certain qualities like being disciplined, punctual, patient. A good student knows the importance of education.

And of course, both a good student and a good teacher should be hardworking and improve they knowledge all the time.

Irina Boyko

In my opinion, a good teacher is good at explaining things, uses modern methods, concerned about the students, always marks homework on time.
And I think a good student is a good listener, makes good progress, pays attantion in class, works hard.

Mushka Alina

Babenko Kristina

A good teacher is not only someone who imparts knowledge but also someone who inspires their students. They show patience, listen attentively, and are always ready to help. Their lessons are engaging and captivating, creating an atmosphere that fosters creativity and growth. On the other hand, a good student is one who actively participates in learning, asks questions, and strives for self-improvement. They respect their teacher and classmates, show interest in the subject matter, and are willing to work hard. The interaction between a good teacher and a good student creates an environment where both sides learn and grow, ensuring success in education.

Рак Антон

A good student is someone who consistently strives to improve both academically and personally. First and foremost, they are hardworking. They put in the effort to complete their assignments on time and prepare thoroughly for exams. This dedication shows their commitment to learning.

Additionally, a good student pays attention in class. They actively listen to their teacher and participate in discussions, which helps them understand the material better. They are also good listeners, not only to their teachers but to their classmates as well, which fosters a positive learning environment.

Moreover, a good student makes progress. They learn from their mistakes and continuously seek to improve. Instead of giving up when faced with challenges, they take them as opportunities to grow.

In conclusion, being a good student is not just about grades. It’s about working hard, paying attention, and having the determination to always do better.

Тєліга Вероніка

I think that a good teacher is someone who listens carefully to their students and is always good at explaining things in a way that everyone can understand. They should use modern methods to keep the lessons interesting and effective. A good teacher is also someone who is truly concerned about the students, helping them succeed and grow. And of course, they should always mark homework on time to give students timely feedback.

As for a good student, I believe they are someone who makes good progress by always paying attention in class and putting in the effort. They work hard on their assignments and are committed to improving and learning every day.

Селищева Валерія

For me, a good teacher is a teacher who is truly passionate about his subject and is able to inspire and interest students. He knows how to explain complex concepts in simple and understandable language and also uses modern methods for this. A teacher who takes into account the characteristics of each student, his pace of learning and interests. He creates an atmosphere in which everyone feels comfortable and can reach their potential. A good student always strives for new knowledge, asks questions and takes initiative. He actively participates in the educational process. He values the time of the teacher and his classmates by completing assignments on time. A student who knows how to work in a team, respects the opinions of others and is willing to make compromises. He constantly works on himself, strives to develop his abilities and reach new heights.

Журавлева Софія

I think when there is mutual understanding between students and the teacher, they find a common language and studying becomes easier. But I still have an idea of the ideal student and the ideal teacher. I think a good teacher should be lenient, check homework on time and explain the material well, perhaps use more modern methods of presenting the material for explanation. But a good student in my opinion should be self-disciplined, listen carefully to the teacher, not be lazy, take notes, I think the material will be easier for the student if he follows these rules. I think if all teachers and students are like this, everyone will be happy and smart

Лера Рудоман

To my opinion, stydying process and progress depends not only on teacher, but on students too.

A good teacher first of all should be concerned about all students and be good at explaining things and then students will have more motivation to study and to have good marks. But to have good marks teachers should always mark homework on time and be more disciplined in paying attention in class. Modern methods are also essential nowadays because of new technological innovations in all over the world. Obviously, a good teacher is not enough, because students should work hard too, be good listeners and then they will make good progress.

Bagiryan Bogdan Ex.3 p.34

To start with, today I want to talk to you about three important international English exams: PET, FCE, and CAE. These exams, offered by Cambridge Assessment English, are recognized worldwide as proof of English proficiency. They are used by universities, employers, and governments to assess a person's ability to communicate effectively in English.

First, let's begin with PET (Preliminary English Test). PET is aimed at intermediate learners (B1 level on the CEFR scale) and is designed to show that you can handle everyday written and spoken English. It covers reading, writing, listening, and speaking. A good example of this is when you can understand basic instructions, express opinions, and write short messages or notes.

Let's move on to FCE (First Certificate in English), which is a step up from PET. This exam is for upper-intermediate learners (B2 level) and proves that you can communicate in an English-speaking environment. The FCE is often used for university admissions or employment. It covers more complex tasks, such as writing reports, understanding news articles, and discussing abstract topics. After that, I'll move on to CAE (Certificate in Advanced English). The CAE is for advanced learners (C1 level) and is typically required for higher education or professional purposes. This exam shows that you can handle high-level academic and professional English, such as giving presentations or understanding complicated texts.

Finally, I'll review the main points. The PET is for everyday English use, FCE is for working or studying in English, and CAE is for advanced academic or professional situations. Feel free to interrupt me if you have any questions.

Irina Boyko

To start with, today I want to talk to you about three important international English language exams: the Preliminary English Test (PET), the First Certificate in English (FCE), and the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE). These exams are designed by Cambridge Assessment English and are recognized worldwide.

After that, I’ll move on to the Preliminary English Test (PET). This exam targets the B1 (Intermediate) level and is suitable for learners who need English for everyday situations, such as travel or work. It consists of four parts: Reading and Writing, Listening, and Speaking. A good example of the kind of tasks in PET includes understanding simple texts and being able to have basic conversations.

Now I would like to discuss the First Certificate in English (FCE). Aimed at the B2 (Upper Intermediate) level, the FCE assesses a higher level of English proficiency. It includes components such as Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. This exam is ideal for those looking to improve their career prospects or study in an English-speaking country. For instance, passing the FCE can enhance your application for universities in the UK.

Finally, I’ll review the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE). This exam is for learners at the C1 (Advanced) level and evaluates the ability to communicate effectively in both academic and professional settings. It also consists of Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. A good example of this is that CAE prepares you for advanced discussions and complex texts, making it valuable for higher education and careers.

That’s all about the three exams. In conclusion, choosing the right exam depends on your current level and future goals. Each of these tests can open doors to new opportunities and enhance your English skills.

Vadim Reva 11-A

International English Exams: PET, FCE, CAE 🌍

🔹 PET (Preliminary English Test): Confirms intermediate English level (B1). Let’s move on to CAE.

Now I would like to discuss the CAE (Certificate in Advanced English), a C1-level exam for those needing advanced English skills for academic or professional purposes.

Finally, I’ll review the main points: PET tests basic skills, FCE is for upper-intermediate learners, and CAE assesses advanced English abilities. Feel free to ask any questions!

Today I want to talk to you about international English language exams. The Preliminary English Test (PET), First Certificate in English (FCE) and Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) are internationally recognised English language exams developed by Cambridge Assessment English. These exams assess different levels of English language proficiency and are designed to help learners demonstrate their language skills for academic and professional purposes.

Let's move on to PET. If your English level is B1, start with it. It assesses everyday English skills and is suitable for learners who need English for work, study or travel. The exam has four components: reading and writing, listening and speaking. The PET helps learners build a solid foundation in English and gain confidence in using the language in practical situations. In the exams, avoid using words the audience may not know.

The FCE is aimed at level B2 and is designed to demonstrate a higher level of English language proficiency. It covers reading and use of English, writing, listening and speaking. If you are looking to expand your career options or simply want to continue studying in an English-speaking environment, then this is the perfect exam for you. FCE is widely recognised by employers and educational institutions around the world.

For learners at level C1, CAE assesses the ability to communicate effectively in professional and academic contexts. Like FCE, CAE includes components of reading and use of English, writing, listening and speaking. This exam is ideal for students planning to enter higher education or seeking professional positions in English-speaking countries, as it demonstrates a high level of understanding.

Taking these exams can greatly improve your employment and educational prospects. The key when taking them is to not panic, formulate your thoughts clearly and stay calm. Manage your time wisely and don’t let anything negative distract you. All that’s left to do is choose the exam that best suits your current level and future goals, and prepare using official resources and practice tests.

Reshevskiy Tikhon Ex.3 p.34

Today I want to talk to you about international English language exams. One of them is the PET exam. PET is a test from the list of Cambridge exams, which is the second most difficult. It can be taken by those who speak English at an intermediate level and want to confirm their knowledge with an international certificate. There are four parts to PET - Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. For each, the candidate receives points that must be added and divided by four.

Next, let's talk about FCE. This level is called upper-intermediate and, having reached it, you can communicate in the office or other workplace and perform your duties without experiencing the difficulties of a language barrier. The FCE certificate is issued for an indefinite period and you will be able to use it at any time. The exam is conducted in two stages and the first three parts are taken on the first day. On the second day, listening and speaking tests are taken. Each stage is worth 40 points, with a maximum of 200 points.

Let's move on to the CAE exam. The CAE exam is designed for those who already speak English at a high level and are looking to improve their skills. The Cambridge C1 Advanced exam is designed to test all four skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. The CAE exam scores range from 160 to 210. Students who score 180 or higher are considered to have passed the exam and receive a certificate of passing the exam.

There are also exams such as KET, CPE, TOEFL, IELTS..

Селищева Валерія

Rak Anton 11-A class

I've recently developed a strong interest in programming and plan to dive deeper into it. My goal is to learn more about different programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Over the next few months, I want to focus on improving my coding skills, exploring areas like web development, algorithms, and data structures. It’s an exciting journey, and I’m looking forward to expanding my knowledge and becoming more proficient.

Рак Лідія 11-А

My future plans include continuing my education to deepen my expertise in , gaining practical experience through internships or projects, and working towards a career that combines my passions and skills. I also plan to focus on personal growth, learning new languages, and traveling to broaden my global perspective.

Журавльова Софія

I think in the future I would like to become a translator. I really like learning different languages. When you learn a foreign language, you get the opportunity to understand people from other countries, you can also better understand the culture of another country and perhaps even refute some stereotypes about people from another country when you communicate with them. Learning is really very important, thanks to knowledge of another language you can not only work as a translator, you can travel without language restrictions, you can also find new acquaintances, and this is really good. I am really glad that in our country there are many universities that have faculties with different languages, English, German, Chinese, Japanese and many others. I really want to enter the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the English-Japanese language faculty, I will make enough efforts to make my dream come true

Alina Mushka

It's still a little difficult for me to choose a profession. I haven't exactly decided it yet, but I already have a definite plan. After successfully passing the exams, I would like to enter the Lviv Polytechnic University at the Faculty of Foreign Languages. I think this is a good idea, because to me, learning languages sounds very interesting. I like learning English. I also want to start learning German in the near future. I think it will be appropriate if I want to enter the faculty of foreign languages. So, I will make enough efforts for my goal, and I'm sure that I will succeed.

Лера Рудоман

My future plans are really essential for me.

This issue is always in my head, because my life, my job, my exams and my education are all about my future and it depends only on me.

Honestly, now I spend time preparing for my exams, choosing university and of course learning english.

Дмитренко Арина.

Відповіді на питання ст. 76 впр 6

1) I think you can understand that it’s hard for parents and they are tired, so you need to give in to them in the conflict. or resolve it peacefully

2)I think this is a good relationship with parents, listening to parents, giving something of yourself to them, taking care, not causing problems

3) Learning to be a good parent can only be done naturally. It also doesn’t come from the first seconds of the baby’s birth. You will also have your own experience, there will be failures, but everything has its time.

Селищева

Conflicts between parents and teenagers are a normal stage of development. However, their frequency and intensity can be reduced. Adolescence is a period of active change, and teenagers need support and understanding. Conflicts can be avoided, for example, through communication. Communicate with your teenager openly and honestly, listen to his opinion, even if it differs from yours. Also, trust your child, but at the same time set clear rules and boundaries. Be ready to make compromises. If the conflicts drag on and you cannot find a common language on your own, you can contact a family psychologist.

Being a good son or daughter means being honest, responsible, respecting your parents and other people, striving for self-development and being ready to help others.

The ability to be good parents is a complex process that requires constant work on oneself. Much depends on the personal qualities of the parents, their experience and desire to learn. There are certain principles of upbringing that can help parents in raising children.

Rules:

Love: Children need unconditional love and support.

Patience: Parenting is a long process that requires patience and understanding.

Example: Children imitate the behavior of their parents, so it is important to be a positive example for them.

Рак Антон 11-А Ex 6 p 76

Conflict is a natural part of human interaction due to diverse perspectives, but it can be minimized through open communication, empathy, and early development of conflict-resolution skills. Being a good son or daughter means balancing respect and support for parents with personal growth and independence, finding a harmony between family loyalty and self-authenticity. While some aspects of parenting may feel instinctual, effective parenting often requires learned skills. Key guidelines include being consistent, listening actively, showing empathy, encouraging independence, and using positive reinforcement. Support resources can help develop these valuable skills.
