What kind of conflicts do you get into with your parents?

They forbid me to play computer games.

What's wrong with computer games?
B:

They think all computer games are useless. They want me to use my computer for more useful stuff.

And your parents may also worry about your eyesight if you look at the computer screen for a long time.
But there are some positive benefits of playing computer games.
B:

Yes, I will. I hope my parents will understand that. Thank you.

B: I have just argued with my elder sister.

B: Not very often.

B: Well, we sometimes have different ideas about sharing household chores. We both have to study all the time, but she asks me to do a lot of things such as cleaning the floor, washing dishes, and taking out garbage.

A: I always do these kinds of work, too. I think you shouldn't be so serious about this.

B: What do you think I should do to solve our conflict?

A: Uhm...you should keep calm and talk to your sister straightly that when you have time you will be ready to help her but if you are busy doing homework she had better do it for you. Or...you can ask your parents to help you divide the household chores.

A: To narrow the generation gap, they should have mutual understanding, help each other and share interest. We think you should talk to her and explain how you feel. You should also show her that you are  mature.

well, I don't like the way my parents keep set times for me.

They expect me to be home at 9. pm. But I really want to stay out later, say 9.30 or 10 pm. That I can have more time with my friends.
A:

 Your parents may also worry about your safety. It is a little bit dangerous outside in the evening.

B:
well, I know that. but I think I'm mature and responsible enough. I hope my parents will understand that. I'll try my best to change their mind.

=> For me, children are not happier to grow up in an extended family, because an extended family with many generations and family members is more complicated and has more problems than a nuclear family.

– Family memebers become closer.

– It’s easier to communicate and share things.

– Diving housework more equally.

3. For us, children are not happier growing up in an extended family, because an extended family with many generations and family members is very inconvenient and complicated.

Western values have been adopted into Vietnamese society. Today, many young people embrace their freedom and independence. Besides, they can afford to buy their own house/ flat and take care of their children without depending on their parents. Some of them work in other provinces or abroad, so they live far away from their parents.

We suppose when living with members of their extended family, young children can develop relationships with adults other than their parents. They can also be overindulged by grandparents

- It’s easier to communicate and share things, divide housework more equally

- In nuclear families, the condition of women is better than joint families. They get enough time to look after her children.

- There is no misunderstanding and they enjoy a harmonious atmosphere by living together.
-  No problem between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law

 

- There is no shifting of responsibility like in a joint family. The parents are bound to take responsibility for their children by themselves.

 1. Yes, they do. Because I wear what my parents buy. The clothes are all nice and comfortable.

 2. I think computer games have some benefits if I spend proper time on them. However, if I waste too much time it will harm my health. Of course, my parents share my points because I am aware of playing computer games very well but sometimes they also remind me to pay attention to my eyesight.
