Yeah, I’m going to talk about the wonder Woman but not the character of the movie or the cartoon. I want to talk the symbol that She represents and the power that she has in the society.

 

 The Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marstonat 1987. This man was a psychologist and he was the creator of the lie detector.I want you to imagine these times, women could only aspire to be housewives or secretaries or minimal jobs. Women could not decide anything, men were the ones who made decisions, they were the only ones who could be strong, they were the only ones who could be with various relationships, they were the only ones who could vote, etc.  It was a sexist era.

 

The creator of wonder Woman Marston saw this environment and he began to study women on the psychological side and He found that women did not want to be women because that represented the lack of power, strength and fortitude.

 

For this reason he decided to create a female character that had the strength of Superman and the charm of a beautiful and good woman.

 

This character was one of many symbols that allowed a change in society

 

This character was exposed by DC COMICS in 1987 and caused that the thought of the society changed:

- The men were scared to see that the woman did men's jobs

- The women found that they could be more than a housewife.

- The government was scared and tried to remove these Comics.

- Feminist protests began.

 

She showed that women can have the same rights as men, that we can have a high position at work, that we can manage a family while working, that we can be independent, that we can be strong, that we have a voice , that we can aspire more than what we have.

 

For this reason I chose the woman wonder because it is more than a character is an icon that allows us to remind a society that women are the same as men.  

 

The wonder woman reminded me that I can have the same thing as a man:

I can be strong, I can be empowered,I am free and I can achieve what I propose.

If Marston hadn’t created the wonder woman, I would not have had a feminine icon with whom I would connect.

 

In conclusion, the wonder woman has talents that allow to be a feminine and empowered goddess, she is an icon of gender equality. It allows us to remind society that women are also capable and that we are not a minority without power.
