Hello, my name is Syahid, and I am currently a second-year student in the Kuliyyah of Education majoring in Teaching Arabic As Second Language . I am 23 years old, I am from Banting. In my free time, I enjoy playing futsal and cafe hunting, always on the lookout for hidden gems around Malaysia. I also love traveling to new destinations, as I believe every trip offers an opportunity to create new memories.

This first session introduced me to the true meaning and purpose of Usrah. I learned that Usrah is not just a routine gathering but a form of spiritual development built on brotherhood and mutual support. The three pillars—ta’aruf (knowing each other), tafahum (understanding each other), and takaful (mutual support)—made me realize how important it is to build strong, meaningful relationships. The etiquette of Usrah, such as arriving on time, respecting others, and participating sincerely, helped me appreciate the discipline and manners that are central in Islamic learning circles.

This session reminded me that the ultimate purpose of life for a Muslim is to seek the pleasure of Allah and to fulfill our responsibilities as His servants and vicegerents on Earth. It made me think deeply about my intentions—whether my studies, social life, and personal ambitions are aligned with what Allah wants from me. I reflected on how I should be more conscious of my goals and ensure that my efforts in this world are beneficial for the hereafter as well.

In this week, I learned that ibadah (worship) in Islam goes beyond rituals like prayer and fasting. It includes every action done with the intention to please Allah, such as studying, working, or helping others. This broader understanding of ibadah made me more aware of my intentions in daily activities. It encouraged me to turn routine tasks into meaningful acts of worship by performing them with sincerity and according to Islamic values.

This week focused on personal character. I was reminded that good character is a key part of being a true Muslim. Traits like honesty, patience, humility, and sincerity are beloved by Allah, while negative traits like arrogance, jealousy, and hypocrisy must be avoided. I took this as a chance to reflect on my own behavior and identified areas I need to improve. I also felt inspired to follow the example of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in how I interact with others.

This topic was very relevant to me as a student. I learned that seeking knowledge is not only encouraged in Islam, but it is also a form of worship when done with the right intention. I was reminded to have respect for teachers, to stay humble regardless of how much I know, and to practice what I learn. This week helped me renew my intention in my studies and reminded me to be grateful for the opportunity to gain knowledge.

This session taught me how to interact with others in a way that is guided by Islamic ethics. In a world where communication is fast and often unfiltered, I was reminded to always speak kindly, avoid gossip, and maintain proper boundaries, especially in interactions between men and women. It made me more mindful of my behavior, both in person and online, and to always strive to represent Islam through respectful and polite conduct.

In our final week, we reflected on the great responsibility we carry as students and seekers of knowledge. I realized that education is not just about academic success—it is a trust that should be used to benefit society. I was inspired to be more committed to learning, not only for myself but so I can serve my community and contribute to the betterment of the ummah. This session gave me a deeper sense of purpose in my journey as a student.

Through this Usrah 2 course, I sincerely hope to continue applying the Islamic values, knowledge, and character-building lessons I have gained into my daily life. I wish to grow into a better Muslim who is not only strong in faith but also beneficial to others. May this journey be a stepping stone toward becoming a responsible individual, a seeker of knowledge with adab, and a contributor to society guided by the principles of Islam. May Allah bless our efforts and keep us steadfast in His path.
