Theoretical understanding of AfL v.s. Actual AfL in the classroom

The author's point on AfL becoming a routinised, one-size-fit-all and mechanical sequence of strategies was something that struck me as I read this chapter. For teachers who are hoping to have more AfL in our classrooms, we can read and pick up AfL tools and strategies from books, workshops and PD sessions. However, we need to be be careful of using each of these tools like a "checklist". Rather, these tools should be differentiated and used depending on student profiles, learning objectives and the context.

However, this differentiation and adaptation is something which I find difficult to achieve, and hence I hope to learn how I can do so through this course.
