She began to act strangely and became very ill. Some of Betty's friends also began to exhibit similar unusual behavior. After this unusual behavior from the girls, they were examined by a doctor who said there was nothing physically wrong with them, and that it must be something spiritually. As people began to think the girls may be the witches, they denied it and began pointing fingers at the "sinners."
