It is obvious that traveling throughout the country is complicated and It was more difficult in the 19th century. Roads play a major role in Americans’ life. We have several documents which tells about America’s roads and railroads. 

We can wonder how roads helped Americans to travel through their country?

          First of all, in 1849 as we know, thanks to the document “The Gold Rush”, the United States of America was trying to get wealthier therefore they went looking for gold in the west of the country focusing on California by new inhabitants coming from South America and Australia. 

          Then, railroad construction has been was  authorized in 1862 by the Congress. As we know, this Great country needed some infrastructures to move from one side to of the country to an other. It was useful to for people and workers for their items/products. 

          The Jefferson’s mission  was about finding a way to move across the northern country by water means. 

To conclude, we can say roads needed to be created to increase develop the  economy and increase the wealth to of this evolving country. This is  partly why this country is economically wealthy nowadays 

There are railroads for several reasons, first, they are freight trains for to transport various products like food, clothes, material but there are also trains for to transport people across the country. (document « The pacific Railroad act »). Theses trains can be used for tourism or for Americans who wish to visit an other state or see visit  our their families. Roads in the USA are very important for to facilitate communications. In the USA, they are many deserts and to get throught it cross them , severals direct big roads were built. In the document « Jefferson’s mission », we can understand that higways permitted in the past to accede reach at several places  in the past for discovering new animal species, new plants, new climates etc.

In conclusion, roads are very important today but also in the past for research and in the future for economic and socials
development of the American nation.

The second document nammed the “jefferson’s mission” is a text who talks is about an expedition that consists consisted of in going up the rivers in North America to create maps. This document is linked with the picture 3. 

The third document is an article  wrtitten in 1862 “The Pacific Railroad”, this article formalizes the creation of a transcontinental railway to connect the East and West of America. The picture 2 is the map represents of  the railroads created by this article is about. 

The fourth document is connected with the picture one because she it represents the “Gold rush”: the text explains that people are coming from all over the World. 

 

In the USA, the history of the road started by with  the expedition in the rivers in 1804 in North America to have a link with people and bring backs maps or notes from the area,.Then in 1849, the Gold Rush has created a wave of migration from all over the world in California and then in 1862, the article create mentions new ways to travel the country by the railroads and that marked a new era in the USA concerning transports. 

We know the transports are very importants in this country because he it  is very large and in the 18th century, there was almost no transports so the President had to work on it and develop the type of transports or even their numbers. During the 19th century, new means of transports appeared and we are witnessing the emergence of new roads like the rises of rivers or railroads with trains (???). The road is something very important in the USA because according to the period in which we live in , we need different types of transports if  whether you we live during the Gold Rush or during the 21stth century.

For the pacific Railroad act, it was is from 1862 until 08/01/1863. Abraham Lincoln is was the president and Charles Crocker is was chief of labor. from sacraments (Sacramento ?)to Omaha by in California (Omaha is in Nebraska...), Nevada? Utah, Wyoming and Nebraski Nebraska. the 3000 kilometers ok of railroad links connect the rail network from the east of the country. to the Pacific Coast. they revolutionized the economic and demographic situation on in  American

Then for the Gold Rush, it was made started in 1849 in California, USA. it is the prospectors from all over the continent, south America and Australia

The USA is a vast territory. for starters,To start,  it is much more sensible to make this trip by car to be able to avoid as many facets of America as possible. Then, if you have an adventurous soul it is much more pleasant because there is a sense of freedom and strangers throughout the journey
